Programme Objectives

•Increasing the recognition of childhood asthma in primary care;

•Increasing prescribing of inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) to children with persistent asthma;

•Increasing correct use of ICS by children with persistent asthma;

•Increasing provision of self-management education to children with asthma and their families; and

•Increasing the knowledge and confidence of children with asthma and their families in managing asthma.

• Develop resources and activities to implement childhood asthma guidelines in primary care;

• Raise awareness of ethnic disparities in medicines use and morbidity;

• Develop activities to promote asthma education for preschool children and their families;
