Chevalier Montrachet

les Demoiselles

Vineyards situationChevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles is located to the south of the Côte deBeaune, at the summit of the slope where the villages of Puligny-Montrachetand Chassagne-Montrachet converge, but on the Puligny commune, just aboveLe Montrachet. It is very small : 1.28 acre.

CharacteristicsLouis Jean Baptiste Jadot bought back the vineyard in 1913 from two sisters anddecided to name it "Les demoiselles". This vineyard had already belonged to hisgrand-father who had bought it in 1845.

The subsoil is extremely chalky with a lot of stones, perfectly drained and easyto overheat with south-south-eastern exposition.

Wine makingChevalier Montrachet "Les Demoiselles" is produced only with Chardonnaygrapes, fermented and aged 15-18 months in oak barrels before bottling. Thisvinification highlights the unique qualities inherent in the fruit of this greatvineyard.

Winemaker's comments / GastronomyMaison Louis Jadot produces limited quantities of this grand cru, which inmany vintages equals or surpasses Le Montrachet in concentration andcomplexity. Its bright, golden colour and penetrating fragrance of toast andhoney predict the rich, mellow fruit flavours, velvety elegance and intensefinish of this wine of exceptional grace and breed. This wine best suits turbot, monkfish, scallops with white truffles, roastedlobster, grilled foie gras, braised veal, free range chicken ...

PreservationWine to age, it will keep for a minimum of 15-20 years and even more in goodconditions of temperature and humidity, and even more in good vintages.
