He studied Geoecology followed by a research position in a collaborationof universities in Germany and Thailand. The topic for his doctoral thesiswas the measurement and modelling of pesticide flux in Northern Thailand.After having worked in the modelling group of BASF SE, he joined Dr. KnoellConsult as an environmental fate modeller. In 2012 Gunnar Kahl wasappointed to become the managing director of the knoell subsidiary inThailand.

Deirdre Lawler has over 10 years’ experience in the private sector, 7of which she has spent at Knoell working as a project manager andgroup leader in ecotoxicology and later as a group leader of globalregulatory affairs before she was appointed her new position as Headof Industrial Chemicals and Biocides Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA)business unit in July 2013. She has a BSc. in Agricultural andEnvironmental Science from University College Dublin and a MSc. inEnvironmental Science from the University of Cologne.
