1. Districts or localities whose demographic makeup, weather patterns and overall fun quotient make them ideal locations for lemonade-stand success.

Using search tools available on Century21.com and key identifiers* of fun, we identified the top American Lemoneighborhoods.

First, we identified the top 10 hottest cities in the country. Then we judged the qualifying towns on a number of criteria available on C21.com. Finally, we assigned additional points depending on each city’s fun quotient, as determined by a number of discretionary criteria.

THE FUN QUOTIENTA Lemoneighborhood's C21 Fun Quotient (fQ) is determined using the following proprietary algorithm:

In which: a=Average Tree-to-Hammock Ratio b=Annual No. Ice Cream Nights per Capitac=Average Little League Game Attendanced=Frequency of Backyard Barbecues e=Daily Minutes of Running in Sprinkler per Capita

fQ = (a + c) - 46

THE FUN QUOTIENT

The results of our detailed analysis confirmed our hypothesis: Beverly Hills, Coral Gables and Austin rose to the top as the most promising Lemoneighborhoods in the bunch.

BEVERLY HILLS’ relatively high average HHI and extremely high population density, combined with a high daily sprinkler time average, helped it take the top place among Lemoneighborhoods. A high frequency of barbecues helped secure this position.

CORAL GABLES’ high prevalence of families with children is a strong marker of a good Lemoneighborhood, as is its sweltering average daily temperature. Additional points were awarded for Little League attendance and impressive ice cream consumption average.

AUSTIN’S marks in most categories were on the high side of average, from its educational climate to the toasty average daily temperature. The deciding factor? An incredible tree-to-hammock ratio helped it grab the third-place spot.
