A brief history of the company:• The company started its

business in 1971 when its founder Robert D. Walter opened a small distribution center in Columbus, Ohio.

• It was a prominent food distributing company till 1979. It was known by Cardinal foods name.

• In 1979 it started the business in pharmaceutical distribution. It was then known as Cardinal distributors.

• In 1983 it owned more than a dozen U.S drug distributors.

• In 1987 its pharmaceutical business grew twice the size of its food distributing business. It sold its food distributing business.

• In 1994 it became the leading drug selling business with the revenue of 6 million dollars.

About the founder: Robert D. Walters:

• Robert D. Walter is a businessman. He purchased Cardinal foods.

• Walter graduated from St. Charles Preparatory School, has an MBA from Harvard University and a BA from Ohio University.

• He retired from Cardinal Health on June 20, 2009. He is no longer CEO or chairman of the board.
