Capitalizing on alumni: what does that mean?

Capitalizing on alumni is about the knowledge of investing ressources in the relation

AIESEC – Alumni.

Why capitalizing on alumni?

More valuable opportunities for personal development.

Increasing successful results in the local, national and global levels.

Stakeholder relationship with several key elements.

Alumni are building stronger emotional connection to the organization and would be ready to support AIESEC in other ways.

Value Exchange- AIESEC Provides alumni value and expects value back.

Examples

AIESEC Yale US alumni organized a fund to start AIESEC in Mongolia, so the alumni put the money and AIESEC US put the HR

together with AIESEC China.

AIESEC India for example has an strategic fund where alumni donate money and they have a goal to reach, with that expansion

initiatives will be supported.

- Do not take alumni’s support during conferences for granted

- Keep in mind they are a partner, even though they used to be members

- Always take in consideration how long they have been away from AIESEC (might need some overview of the current reality)

- You can build a database of alumni in your city who can be invited to provide trainings, facilitation per field of expertise and constantly enrich it

- If you re-establish an emotional bond, alumni will want to get involved, give and contribute (ER and TM together)
