USS FILE TRIGGER
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
This fix introduces support for USS File trigger.
After this fix is applied, you can use a USS file path and USS keyword
instead of data set name on the event level DSTRIG command
or in the DSNAME statement for a DSTRIG workload object.
USS File Trigger format for event-level data set trigger:
DSTRIG Ý'¨pathÝ'¨
USS
ÝJOBNAME(jobname)¨
ÝMULTIPLE ÝPRIMED¨¨
ÝRENAME¨
ÝCOUNT(n|1) ÝCURRENT(n|0)¨¨
ÝUSER(userid)¨
Syntax for USS File Trigger for DSTRIG workload object:
DSNAME Ý'¨pathÝ'¨
USS
ÝRENAME¨
ÝCOUNT(n|1)¨
ÝJOBNAME(jobname)¨
ÝUSER(userid)¨
The USS File trigger works with information from SMF Type 92 subtype 11
and 14 which need to be enabled on the system.
The path operand specifies the full path or path suffix of a USS file,
it includes the USS file name.
Limits:
Maximum length is 63 characters.
The full path starts with a forward slash (/), for example,
DSNAME /usr/local/foo.sh USS
A path suffix starts with one of the full directory names in the path
and it has no forward slash (/) at the start. A match is made for USS
files that include the path suffix at the end of the full path for
that file. For example,
DSNAME local/foo.sh USS
Minimum length for a path suffix is 8 characters.
When choosing between using the full path or a path suffix, consider
how it is expected that the USS file will be accessed. If the command
that updates or renames the specified USS file got the full path on
the input, then the full path will be present in the SMF Type 92
and the full path will be used to match against the defined USS File
triggers. For example, for the command
ls -la > /usr/local/dir
SMF Type 92 will contain the full path /usr/local/dir and the full
path /usr/local/dir will be matched against the defined USS File
triggers.
This means that the USS File trigger defined using the path suffix
local/dir would be a match for the path /usr/local/dir in the SMF
and also the USS File trigger defined using the absolute path
/usr/local/dir.
If the same command would be issued from directory /usr/ using
relative path
ls -la > ./local/dir
then SMF Type 92 would contain ./local/dir and this path would be
used for match.
This means that the USS File trigger defined using the path suffix
local/dir would be a match for the path ./local/dir in the SMF,
but not the USS File trigger defined using the absolute path
/usr/local/dir.
If path contains blanks, enclose it in single quotes.
USS File trigger is also supported in MAPGEN, JOBDATA or WOBDATA function
for the variable DSNAME and %ESPFTFILE built-in symbolic variable.

OVERDUE NOT WORKING
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Late end time for a job in ESP applications can be
set by one of the following:
- DUEOUT EXEC statement in a job definition
- MAXRUNTIME variable in a job definition
- Manually by AJ command
First off, this fix corrects bugs in setting job's
late end time based on MAXRUNTIME value, as well as
bugs in processing of AJ command.
Another bug was that job's propagated late end time
would overwrite explicitly set late end time in job
predecessors, and this resulted in missing overdue
messages and/or notifications. To fix this bug and
avoid other confusion, new LATE status is introduced
here:
- If a job is late only due to propagated late end
time its status in CSF will be shown as LATE.
OVERDUE-END status is reserved only for jobs
that are late due to explicitly set overdue time,
regardless of propagated late end time.
- By default, job end overdue messages and
notifications are issued only when job becomes
OVERDUE-END (explicitly set late end time).
When job is LATE, only CSF shows its status,
no messages or notifications are issued.
- New 195 usermod is introduced here. When it is on,
job end overdue messages and notifications are
issued for LATE jobs too (propagated set late end
time).
SYMPTOMS:
Overdue end times are processed incorrectly.
IMPACT:
Users don't have reliable information about overdue end jobs.
Overdue end notifications may not be issued.
CIRCUMVENTION:

CA Workload Automation ESP Edition 11.4 14
CA RS 1505 - PTF RO77432 Details
Release Service DetailsThis fix introduces new LATE status for jobs that are late only due to
propagated late end time (but not explicitly set). The status will be
displayed in CSF for such jobs. OVERDUE-END status is reserved only for
jobs that are late due to explicitly set overdue time. Usermod 195 is
introduced by the fix to preserve compatibility with the previous
behavior. When usermod 195 is on, then job end overdue messages and
notifications will be issued for both LATE and OVERDUE-END jobs. Without
this usermod, only OVERDUE-END jobs will issue messages and
notifications.

DOUBLE QUOTE ESCAPE CHARACTERS IN AFM DATA()
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
z/OS Agent does not remove the double quote escape characters when they are
included in the received Automation Framework Message (AFM) Data() argument.
It causes that the double quote escape characters are wrongly used in
following processes as normal characters.
This fix removes the double quote escape characters for next processing when
they are included in received AFM Data() argument.
SYMPTOMS:
z/OS Agent AFM receiver does not recognize the double quote escape characters
in the input data buffer. It causes wrong using of the characters.

ESP SYSMSG FILTER ROUTINE MAY CAUSE ABEND0C4
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
In rare circumstances, ESP SYSMSG Filter routine may cause ABEND0C4 in the
SYSMSG Filter routine of a third party product. The abend may occur in a job
or STC as the SYSMSG Filter routines are stacked and called when a record is
written to the JESYSMSG data set. There are two necessary conditions for this
abend:
- At least one of ESP subsystems on a given LPAR runs with the following init
parms:
SMFINT OFF and TRACKOPT ...SYSMSG...
- When ESP SYSMSG Filter routine passes control to the third party SYSMSG
Filter routine, at least one of the bits 24-27 of general register 2 is not
zero.
SYMPTOMS:
ABEND0C4 in the SYSMSG Filter routine of a third party product in a
non-ESP job/STC.
IMPACT:
Depends on the nature of the abended job/STC.
CIRCUMVENTION:
Remove SYSMSG or change it to NOSYSMSG on the TRACKOPT init parm, if
SMFINT OFF is in use.
