Bus Passes

• Bus passes are issued by the County and they decide on when and where you can get on and off the bus. They are usually happy to think again if you wish to get on at a different stop.

Travelling on the bus

• Wait quietly at the bus stop for the bus, avoid stress to nearby neighbours

• Should the bus not arrive wait 20mins and then return home. Sometimes there may be unexpected traffic and this can be a problem. The buses always try to come. Listen to the radio for news or contact school as they may know the reason for the delay. The school now has a text message service in emergency so make sure your numbers are accurate!

Safety features

• Wearing the seatbelt during the journey is essential

• Any bags must be safely stored under the seat rather than occupying another seat

• No moving when the bus is moving• Follow the instructions of the bus driver and

behave in a polite manner• Always have the bus pass in a easy to find

place- a wallet or purse is ideal to avoid it getting lost

• Report any problem immediately to Mrs Rose or other member of staff who will be on duty in the bus park both am and pm

Bus Queries

• School cannot change buses or allow pupils to travel on the wrong bus. This means you cannot invite a new friend from Leek to travel home on the bus with you.

• Passes are regularly checked by the drivers

Bus Buddies

• These are older pupils usually Year 7 or 8 who have volunteered to look after younger pupils. They know what it is like to be uncertain and were just like you a few years ago.

• They will answer questions and help if needed.
