As much as some people would like to believe, this is not the only one:!

who is this?! Sourcing Steps 2!

Start by utilizing the social networks that you do have and signing up for useful ones that you do not have. !!Facebook – Largest social network in the US!Twitter – Quick message postings that are broadcast in 140 characters!!Linkedin – Still the best business oriented social network!

2

Google+ – A new social network but is fast growing!!Quora – A social network created by users to answer questions of other users. !

who is this?! Sourcing Steps 2!

Others that are worth looking at: Plaxo, Xing, Jigsaw, Spokeo, and Ning!

Your social network are only as strong as your connections that you have. Make sure you connect with as many of the right people as possible. When talking to candidates or hiring managers, make sure you connect with them through Linkedin. !!The more people you connect with, the greater your network becomes. Even a small number of connections can lead you to many others. !!Make sure you at least sign up with the networks listed on the previous page. Connect with your friends, co-workers, candidates and hiring managers. !!Social networks like Myspace or Youtube are not recommended to sign up with, though corporations looking to hire Gen-Y candidates will often create video postings and broadcast them on YouTube.!

You are micro-blogging. Many candidates choose this method above others to communicate. Just like any other search tool, you need to learn how to use it.!

2 who is this?! Sourcing Steps 2!

Twitter.com has a good tool to search through the postings (or tweets!) of its users. !2

who is this?! Sourcing Steps 2!

You can either enter in search terms that will lead you to people who are tweeting about their job or hobbies in life…!

Or you can enter in #hashtags, which are user-defined keywords that can be searched by anyone. !2

who is this?! Sourcing Steps 2!

The #hashtags allow users to find others who have similar interests. !!hashtags.org is !another site that is good for #hashtags search.!

Even the smallest amount of information on a Twitter bio can be useful to you. !2 who is this?! Sourcing Steps 2!

There are also some other tools that are very good to use for this… !

words of WISDOM

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” - Charles Darwin !!Don’t be afraid to use other tools and methods that are available to you. It is easy to dismiss new methods and hold on to the “tried and true” ones. But if you keep doing the same thing, then the future will pass you by…!
