Overview Of The Brand Ambassador Experience

• Lecture shout-outs and social media• Organised speakers from Linklaters to come on campus• Assist drop-in sessions to give extra application support• Wrote in-depth competitor report• Built relationships• Distributed free food… in my kitchen

• Over 750 people driven to the graduate recruitment website• Facebook likes up 144% • Created and managed Twitter account• 3 editorials secured in a student newspaper and sponsorship deal secured• Quadrupled target attendance for Linklaters’ London firm presentation• Additional location secured for the Borrow a Brolley campaign and twice as many

brolleys were distributed as were in the previous year

Results Of My Campaign

• Brilliant friends, lots of networking opportunities with very impressive people• Unanimously elected president of a Women in Business-type society• Invaluable insight both into how a small, fast-growing company is run, as well as how an

enormous law firm works• An immeasurable confidence boost and presentation skills• Heightened capacity for analysis and understanding of people• Instant credibility and tangible impact

What I Got Out Of The Role

• Be imaginative about how you go about things and use all available resources to the fullest

• Some great people to build relationships with are the Careers Service, societies (even outside existing sponsorship deals) and other Brand Ambassadors

• Put yourself out there early on in the term, before university work gets too hectic• Be very conscious about what is and isn’t working and react accordingly – use

available statistics to help you with this• Be organised!

Tips For Future Brand Ambassadors

• Professional (and wonderfully helpful) staff – everyone really knows what they’re doing• Great to see the impact I was having through the detailed statistics they collected and

reassuring to know they’ve got a proven track record• Driven to take my campaign further by how much effort they put into coming up with

innovative ways to help us along• Brilliant experience to be able to help provide an insight into how to target my (often

misunderstood) generation
