November 11th@6pm library– SHH Induction Ceremony!!!

Point System The SHH uses a point system, but DO NOT FEAR. If you

come to meetings and participate in the things we will be doing this year, it will be a breeze to get the points you need.

40 points will be required in total – 20 first semester and 20 second semester.

How do I get points? Come to meetings! +1 pt.and wear your SHH shirt +1 pt. Community service! +3 pts./hour Tutoring! +2 pts./30min And many other ways throughout the year.

Dues What am I paying for?

Recognized membership in the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica.

Your SHH T-shirt Lots of opportunities and chances to earn cash

money, scholarships to travel and/or study, and experience – the best gift of all.

How much is it? New members: $25 (Includes dinner) Old members: $15 (Includes dinner no cords)

Outings! FUN STUFF! Yes, we do that! We will have many outings throughout the

year that will be opportunities for us to have fun and experience Hispanic culture. : ) Restaurants – Pollo Tropical, La Parilla, etc. Eventos hispanos – Festival del Día de Los

Muertos Movie nights and more!

Camiseta Design!

Do we want a new t-shirt? We need designs in digital format, or at least scanned into the computer and made into .jpg or .png files.

We will vote for t-shirt designs – most likely through an online survey after designs have been submitted. Only two weeks left to design them!

Community service This year, in order to maximize efficiency of our chapter and

make our experience as great as possible, we will be looking for more community service that requires some Spanish.

Here are some ways to earn points:

Going on now: Homework club is looking for responsable people to take care of the propgram atendance and the bus.

Scholarships JUNIORS: Bertie Green Travel Award

Go to a Spanish-speaking country for FREE!

SENIORS: Money Money Money. $1000 and $2000 grants, and many of them at that.

There are scholarships available through both the SHH and NSE!

Speaking of the NSE, if you get a medal in the NSE this year, you do not have to take ½ of your Spanish class’ final exam!!
