EDUCATION

Hi, my name is Banui Barragán and I am 25 years old. I consider myself an open, positive and honest person. I was born in Mexico but I’ve been living in Barcelona since 7 years ago.

When I find out about this workshop it caught my attention right away, I feel really interested in working hand by hand with a group of designers for a commong goal in a short period of time and see great results from the combination of different minds. I really like doing interventions of this kind, specially when envolving a social manner. That’s why I think this workshop will be an interesting experience for me and will help in my development as an interior designer.

I believe I am ready to achieve new challenges and skills, learn more from the design world out here, and absorb everything I can from what I might find on the way. I am looking forward to explote my own style as a designer by exploring in the real world.

ELISAVA School of Design BA in Interior Design (‘09-’13).

ETSAV Degree in Architecture (‘07-’09).

ITESM Campus Guadalajara, Méxio. Bilingual High School (‘02-’05).

Languages: Spanish, English, Catalan, and basic French.

BONUSEXPERIENCE

I have participated at the workshop “Taller Vertical” of architecture at Mexico, where we won 1st place.

Also, at ELISAVA, I was in LaGranja’s workshop “Spread your Influence”, and the “Goodbye Poster?” by David Torrents.

As well as in the “Stand Up” work-shop for ELISAVA’S stand at the “Saló de l’Ensenyament” of this year, tutored by LaGranja studio.

Right now I am an intern at WEARET-WENTY! studio of interior design, since Novemeber I’ve been treating with different projects of interior as well as graphic design.

Along my degree at ELISAVA I have learned not only some basic design pro-grams as the pack adobe, autocad, rhino, sketchup, but also to work underpreassure, always give a bit more of creativity to each project until you feel it is right and if you are having fun doing, it means you’re doing good !

Also, during the 4 years of the bache-lor I was part of the acting class group at ELISAVA, both as actress and helping in scenography.

Along with a group of classmates, we developed this project as an urban intervention with the only goal to make children enjoy our city in a joyful way, like finding surprises every now and then around the corner downtown.

More information and the video of the intervention and making of can be found at the website: cargocollective.com/columpiate

COLÚM-PIATE

Participation in the workshop “Spread your influence” directed by LaGranja Design at ELISAVA. We had four days to completely transform the student’s room with a low budget but a lot of creativity.

The areas were transformed into a relax lounge with some hammocks, another one with recycled puffs to chat, and also leaving a study space with tables and chairs.

LAMAKA

This project was to design an exposition at the CCCB. The topic was about copyleft, copyright, creative commons, etc. where we had to focus and choose a single area to explain these concepts.

We chose MUSIC to draw the exposition theme line, and making it easy to the users to understand better about the copyleft, copyright, etc.

We got inspired by the movie “Thron”, and its music. That way the exposition runned in the dark, using only uv or phosphorescent light, as well as screens where videos and info were showed. And also the users would be using headphones during all the stages, hearing interesting facts and infor-mation, but also music along the way.

MUSIC ON

The brief determined a space of nine square meters reserved for a culinary use. I focus on a mobile stablishment of crêpes to go. The local would be able to be placed either outdoors at a square, or indoors, for example, in a mall.

The space would be build up by modules, the four facades can be dismantled and packed for an easier transportation.
