cabulary to learn about

how to talk about what

we are going to do. Stu-

dents will finish up the

unit by simulating the

Latin Grammy Awards.

Students will work with a

partner to present a

song in a given category.

I can’t believe winter

break is just around the

corner! This month we

are starting our new unit

on La Musica! We will be

examining different gen-

res of music from differ-

ent countries, typical

instruments from each

genre, where those

countries are located,

and famous singers or

bands of those genres.

Students will be able to

talk about their opinions

of the genres and how it

makes them feel. We

started the unit with an

experiment on sound.

Students attached dif-

ferent items to string

and tapped on that item

with a ruler and then

listened to the sound

waves. We discussed

why the objects made

certain sounds

and how the ex-

periment trans-

lates to how in-

struments work.
