Pictures of The Hill and The Quad Residence Halls
The Hill Bedroom -‐ The shelves on the desk are ideal for organizing books or for decora>on like holding picture frames. These are not provided, but can be homemade or bought from various businesses around Auburn.
The Hill Bedroom -‐ In this room the resident chose to posi>on her bed as a day bed, which could make more living space in the middle of the room and give more sea>ng in the day>me.
The Hill Bedroom -‐ Residents like to use seat covers or seat cushions to make the desk chairs more comfortable.
The Hill Bedroom -‐ Bunking beds allows for more space in the rooms on the Hill or in the Quad. The futon adds comfortable sea>ng or a place for visitors to sleep.
The Hill Bedroom -‐ Stacking the microwave and refrigerator is a good way to conserve space. This resident hung a line on her wall so that items could be clipped to it, allowing for decora>on that won’t damage the residence hall walls. A ribbon might be another cute op>on.
The Hill Bedroom Carpets and rugs can add more color to any room. Many stores carry rugs that would work. You might also try having a remnant bound to get the size you want. Using plas>c containers is an easy way to organize odds and ends.
The Hill Bedroom -‐ Bulle>n boards can be made using corkboard and ribbon, or foam board, bacng, and pieces of fabric.
The Quad Bedroom -‐ You can use a dust ruffle to hide the storage space under your bed.
The Quad Bedroom -‐ Floor lamps are op>ons for extra ligh>ng.
The Quad Bedroom -‐ Inexpensive but colorful headboards can be made with plywood, bacng and fabric.
The Quad Bedroom -‐ Some residents choose to place their beds next to one another. There are lots of different ways to arrange your residence hall room!
The Quad Bedroom -‐ Miniature personal mirrors are ideal for applying make-‐up or gecng ready since you share a bathroom in the Quad and on the Hill.
The Quad Bedroom -‐ Curtains are easy ways to get color in your room. Blinds are provided, but you will need your own tension rod and rings to hold the curtain up.
The Quad Bedroom -‐Clip-‐on lamps help you read and study in bed, while clip-‐on fans cool you off at night and create a sound that helps you sleep!
The Quad Bedroom -‐ Magne>c clipboards are another easy way to put up pictures in the room. Shelves help with decora>ng and organizing.
The Quad Bedroom -‐ Bed risers give you more storage space under your bed. Make sure to use the ones approved by our Housing Office.
The Quad Bedroom -‐ People living in the Quad or on the Hill who do not choose to bunk their beds oien separate their beds with both desks.
The Quad Bedroom -‐ The color schemes for your any residence hall are endless!

The Village Bedroom -‐ Study buddy pillows are very popular for studying and hanging out. You can use them in your room or carry one down the hall to another room.
The Village Bedroom -‐ In the Village residence halls you can separate your drawers and but them under your bed to make more space on the floor in your room.
The Village Bedroom / Closet -‐ Shower curtains are ideal for covering your closet in the Village residence halls. The rooms in the Quad and on the Hill have doors, so curtains are not needed.
The Village Bedroom -‐ Jewelry stands have two func>ons by being decora>ve for the room and holding all your jewelry.
The Village Bedroom -‐ Curtains are more than decora>ve. They can keep the light out if you add black-‐out material as a liner.
The Village Bedroom -‐ Pictures from home and decora>ve touches can be comfor>ng that first year away from home.
The Village Bedroom /Closet -‐ No>ce the shoe rack at the boUom of the closet. This is an easy way to keep your shoes neat and >dy!
The Village Kitchen -‐ A microwave, refrigerator, and freezer come in the kitcheneUe in the Village residence halls.
The Village Common Room -‐ In the Village common room there is enough space to add a chair, a television stand, a coffee table, and a side table or lamp stand to the furniture that is already provided.
The Village Bathroom -‐ No>ce the hutch that stores toiletries and towels in this bathroom. This is a good idea for any residence hall! Make sure you know what size and type your bathroom will accommodate before purchasing one.
The Village Bathroom -‐ Whether you live on the Hill, in the Quad, or in the Village, residents bring their own shower curtain, rings, and bathroom mats. It’s fun to get crea>ve with this! This is an ADA style bathroom, yours may look different!
