• Assessment, monitoring and tracking is helping to drive the use of VLEs

• Lots of interest from providers in using Moodle as an assessment tool

• The ULCC AM is just one of the models of assessment, also working with other models, especially in HE (e.g. blind and double marking systems)

Assessment Manager

Assessment Manager plug-in for Moodle enables evidence tracking against course specific outcomes in order to meet awarding body criteria.

Initially geared towards NVQ, BTEC, and similar criteria based awards, however it should be transferable to any similarly qualifications and training.

- WJEC (3 quals. including the Welsh Baccalaureate)

Assessment Manager – pilot & development

• Hosted customers

The new version will be available for Moodle 2.0 early in the new academic year

• Non-hosted

A supported service will be available before the end of 2011

• Community version

The community version will be available at the end of 2011/early 2012

Assessment Manager

The new version of Assessment Manager will:

•       Fix any bugs•       Implement changes highlighted from pilot•       Complete implementation of verification•       Provide a new interface for qualifications

(‘Qualifications Manager’)

Students submit work and complete activities, making claims against available or set criteria

Tutors/Assessors access portfolios and gradebook to assess the work
