THE CAPTIVE

CLOUDS OF SILS MARIA

Director Olivier Assayas’ drama follows an actress (Juliette Binoche) whowithdraws to the city of Sils Maria with her assistant (Kristen Stewart) toperform in a revival of the play that made her famous twenty years earlier.While in Sils Maria she meets an unsettling young version of herself (ChloeGrace Moretz).

FOXCATCHER

From the Director of Capote and Moneyball, Bennett Miller, and starringChanning Tatum, Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo, Foxcatcher follows themurder of Olympic wrestling champion Dave Schultz.

GOODBYE TO LANGUAGE

Jean-Luc Godard returns to Cannes with Goodbye to Language, a love storyfollowing a man and a woman, with a stray dog that finds its way betweenthem. The film has been shot entirely in 3D.

THE HOMESMAN

Directed by Tommy Lee Jones, The Homesman follows George Briggs (Jones)as he escorts Mary Bee Cuddy (Hilary Swank) and three clinically insanepatients across the Midwest.

JIMMY’S HALL

Ken Loach makes his 12th appearance at Cannes with the fiction featureJimmy's Hall, following Irish communist leader James Gralton.

LEVIATHAN

In the modern re-imagining of the biblical tale of the Book of Job, Leviathanpresents elements of sci-fi, drama and Russian societal critique.

MAPS TO THE STARS

David Cronenberg, Director of Cosmopolis starring Robert Pattinson, returnsto Cannes with Maps to the the Stars, a satire of the entertainment industryfeaturing Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, and John Cusack.

MOMMY

By one of the youngest Directors in the competition, Xavier Dolan (age 25),Mommy follows a relationship between a widowed single mother and violentson, who find hope when a new neighbour comes between them.

MR. TURNER

Director Mike Leigh returns to Cannes with Mr. Turner, the biopic following thestory of renowned British painter J.M.W. Turner (1775-1851), played by TimothySpall. Deeply affected by his father’s death, Turner travels, paints, andeventually forms a close relationship with a seaside landlady.

SAINT LAURENT

The biopic following legendary French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurentand starring Gaspard Ulliel, Louis Garrel and Lea Seydoux marks DirectorBertrand Bonello’s third appearance at Cannes.

THE SEARCH

Returning to the festival after his prize-winning film The Artist, MichelHazanavicius tells the story of the friendship between an NGO worker and ayoung boy in Chechnya. The film is a remake of Fred Zinnermann’s Academy-Award winning 1948 feature of the same title.

STILL THE WATER

Director Naomi Kawase’s story follows a young couple trying to solve amysterious death on the Japanese island of Amami-Oshima .

TIMBUKTU

Director Abderrahmane Sissako, who previously made an appearance atCannes with the 2006 film Bamako, tells the story of a Malian couple stonedto death for failing to marry before God.

TWO DAYS, ONE NIGHT

Directed by Jean-Pierre Dardenne, Marion Cotillard plays a young womanwho has one weekend to convince her colleagues to give up their bonuses soshe can keep her job.

WILD TALES

Argentinean writer-director Damian Szifron makes his first appearance atCannes with Wild Tales, a series of comic sketches.

WINTER SLEEP

Former actor Aydin, his wife Nihal, and his sister Necia manage a small hotelin Central America. Animosity is ignited when a snow storm turns the hotelinto a safe shelter.

THE WONDERS

The Wonders, by Italian Cannes veteran Alice Rohrwacher, follows a 14-year-old girl living in the Umbrian countryside whose life is altered by a Germanex-con.
