THESIS

• This is an exercise and exploration into the mind of a learner, artist and builder (me) who accidentally, while on a weekend getaway, encounters a key (physical item) that unlocked a portal (doorway) into a new creative realm (dimension/world) of personal creative expression.

• Through these pictures, words and videos I played screenwriter, director of photography to paint a picture, tell a story, go on a journey and to express myself. I took these shots with my iphone and had fun doing so. Each article position, light and picture unlocked a new something else within that story. I hope to inspire others to begin to think more about the universal process of learning, creating and building and how they currently share and inspire others in their life.

• HERE IS MY TREATMENT *The following is a treatment using a figurine that symbolizes the learner, artist, builder during quiet time, in study mode thinking, absorbing and sense making. Allowing the character to be inspired, to imagine and nudged to contemplate, meditate, annotate, sketch and create by nature and man-made surroundings.

• It hints at the struggle to focus, the despair of losing a muse, labor of overcoming interruptions as life events that tug away as distractions. The uncovering of a need to find a resolve, a discipline a vehicle that will transport the figurine back to that magical place, that perfect state. The quest begins to build a transport mechanism and a time machine that is called chair and space to revisit that place.

• That chair and space where time stands still, where everyone (young and old) gain access to spend quality time and wher people can freely transfer knowledge and happiness to edify others. The same place where the possible happens, where achievement breaks free from the constraints of gravity, time, economics, distance, fear and death.

Draft Notes

Whatever the discipline, where ever the speed, whoever the tongue, the artist rests from motion, to reflect, to think, to interpret, to document, to design, to create, to build. It is in these moments, in between the spaces of the branches that we see the patterns of life come together.

The mind illuminates a space before matter and energy to create the object in his mind before he makes it with his hands.

The thinker finds himself inspired and interrupted by his environment as he settles in to learn. He immerses himself in light, color texture to allow his thoughts to take shape to be defined.

His banner is his flag, invisible it stands. “I will one day lay claim to this place, I will mark this place with my flag. In fact, I am doing it now. I am doing it in my mind.”

I’ve observed this light that forms around the thinker who reads, this learners soon will tell the tale of the learner and builder.

I am in these clouds so that you may see, the artwork of nature, that is inside of me.
