Things to bring for the homestay

- Clothes to do fieldwork (long-sleeved shirt, long pants, hat)- Night clothes (Sweat shirt, T-shirt, shorts, etc.)- Toiletries (Toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, rinse, soap, etc.)- Towels for the field work and bath.- Umbrella or raincoat (in case of rain)- Others (Such as camera, etc.)

About the bath

Basically, ACE program participants can take a bath at the house of the host family. If you wish, we can arrange to take you to a public bath around the neighborhood. Please be aware that this may cost around 1,000 yen for 2 times, so make sure to have change ready for payment.If you choose to use the public bath, you may have to take a bath with local people, so please understand the following bathing etiquettes. Here are some tips:

- Please wash your body before getting in the bath.- Use quiet voices, no big noises.- Towels are left in the locker room.- You must not wear anything when entering the bathing area.- Dry off before entering the dressing room.

*Be sure you are waering underwear (i.e. t-shirt, tank top, etc.) on June 19th, because we are going to have a Yukata wearing experience on that day and it is prohibited to waer one if you are naked.

Use of AP House Facilities

- Wifi account: APU-Webauth Log in ID: apuevent Password: Np1tB8R8

- Main Entrance The inside door is automatically locked 24 hours a day, with access for residents only. Show your ID card to the security office. Staff will unlock the door.

- Private Showers

- Seminar Room The room is basically locked. However, please take valuables with you at all times. If you need to unlock the room, go to the security office to ask them unlock the door.- Laundry Hours of use: 7:00 - 24:00

- Emergencies In case of emergency, you should go to TA’s room.

Common Areas and Facilities- Internet Room and Study room Hours of use: available 24 hours

- When you use the room, you must adhere to the following rules: - Use the equipment with care. Do not damage equipment or remove it from the room. - Do not eat and drink in the room. - Do not use the computers for entertainment / games etc. and refrain from prolonged use.

- Refresh Room (Middle hall, AP House 2) - You can use this room between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. - Equipment for table tennis and billiards is available for loan at reception. - There is no need to apply in advance to use the room, but remember that this is a multi-purpose area and be considerate of other individuals/groups who are using the room.

- Outdoor Basketball Court - You can use this court between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. - There are no special procedures required to use this area. However, you must not use it outside the times designated above. - Basketballs can be loaned at the management office.

- Vending Machines - Vending machines are locatedon the first floor of central hall and middle hall.

Notes Regarding the Use of Your Room

Please adhere to the following rules:

- Be sure to treat fixtures and furniture with care and not to damage, redecorate or remove them from the AP House.- A steel pipe is installed at the window and at the indented ceiling. This is designed only for hanging clothes; do not attach anything heavy.- Cash and valuables are kept at residents' own risk.- Be sure to lock the door even if you are leaving your room for a short period of time.

- Telephone (Local, long-distance, and international calls) - To make external calls, residents will need to purchase phone cards available at the school store. (Brastel Card) Public Phones are located in first floor of AP House. - Make sure to call your parents to let them know about your arrival.

- Hazardous Conduct - Avoid any conduct that might harm others or that is hazardous.
