Papa Gene was excited about the birth of Elisabeth, but …..

he was even more excited about her baptism. • 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say

Papa Gene let his candles

burn down considerably

on his last birthday

because he said he

couldn’t think of anything

for which to wish. What

a blessing that he had

that mindset on his last

birthday……I’m so

thankful I zoomed in on

those candles that teach

such a marvelous lesson

of a life well-lived and

also a lesson in finding

contentment in life’s true treasures.

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

The head fell off of Rachel Grace’s gingerbread man so Papa Gene

replaced it with a marshmallow.

He made EVERYthing entertaining.
