Why E-commerce & Why Now?
Literally, you are about to learn everything, from A-Z, about building a 7-figure a year e-

Cyber Monday reached an all-time high in 2016. Consumers spent $3.45 billion online on that
day. Can you imagine the technology needed to take on that many orders in one day? It’s just
staggering to think that this much money came in the door in one day.

Amazon decided to do Christmas in July this year, and they ended up breaking the record. In
fact, their sales grew by more than 60%. According to CNBC, Amazon Prime Day sales included:

You can see a breakdown of what Amazon was able to do in the screenshot above. There’s no
doubt that e-commerce is here to stay for many years to come. Plus, there are different parts
of the world that are just now getting online. Greg Writer, the original presenter of this
information, was able to get a quote from Steve Forbes. He said:
“E-commerce is the wave of the future because it’s convenient for the consumer.
That’s what commerce is all about, meeting the wants and needs of other
people.”
Writer says that he couldn’t have scripted that comment any better. Steve is just brilliant. A
comment of Jack Ma’s, of Alibaba and AliExpress, is shown below as well. He says:

Jack Ma has a road show going to promote greater U.S. exports to China, where a growing
middle class is showing an insatiable appetite for consumer goods. The growing middle class in
China wants US products, according to Writer, and he believes that this is going to become one
of the biggest booms in the world.
Writer also exclaims that there’s one major factor that makes e-commerce so hot, and that’s
drop shipping. You may or may not be familiar with drop shipping, so let’s go over what drop
shipping is and why you should be open to it. Greg Writer says that he got into e-commerce in
1997, and at that time it was a bad investment. That has all changed in the last few years
because now you can have a customer go to order online, pay you upfront, and then pay for the
cost of goods and pay the drop shipper. Then, the drop shipper places the order, puts a nice
little bow on it, and ships it to the customer.
What this means is that you, as the owner of a business, are able to take the money without
ever touching the product. The drop shipper does that and sends it out for you. In many cases,
you don’t even have to handle the customer service for your own products either. Anything
under the sun can be drop shipped. So, start thinking about what you would want to sell and
have drop shipped. No matter what it is, you can find a drop shipper for it.
Greg recommends getting with some friends and brainstorming some ideas with them. Think
about your hobbies and what products you like. Ask your friends what they like, and do some
searches on Google Trends. Let’s say that you were a hang glider pilot, and you decided to sell
products to people who were into that hobby. For instance, you might want to sell parachutes,

or barometers, or altimeters. You can find a company that will allow you to sell their stuff, and
they will ship the products for you. That’s just one example of the many, many things that you
can do.
While you’re trying to decide what to sell, you should also browse different shops. Go to stores
and look at what other people are selling. Some of the sites that Greg recommends are
Orbelo.com and Junglescout.com. There’s a story in Sam Walton’s book that shows just how
humble he was. He was already the richest man alive at the time, and he still jumped at a
chance to talk to other retailers, thinking that they might know something that he didn’t. Well,
his representatives got a call one day because they had arrested Walton, and that’s because
they thought he was senile. He had been crawling around on the floor at their store, measuring
the aisles to see if there was an optimal way to space out the aisles in a store.
Sam Walton never stopped researching what other people were doing, even though he was
already immensely successful. The point is that you should always study what successful
people are doing. It’s worth it to do the research. Some of the things you really need to
consider when you are planning out what to sell and have drop shipped are:

Order tracking issues
Who your contact is at drop shipper

Customer support
Again, you can have anything drop shipped, but it might be a little more difficult to ship things
like motorcycles or beds. You’d want to have a good understanding of that before moving
forward to sell such items. Greg and his team steer clear of heavy items. Of course, you can do
anything you want, but you would want to consider the cost of doing so before moving forward
with your business. Make sure that these costs aren’t going to take away your profit margin
and that it makes sense for you to sell certain things.
You should also think about how you are going to go about tracking your orders. For instance,
let’s say that you had a drop shipper that was going to ship out the parachutes you sell in your
online hang gliding store, another was going to ship out barometers, and another was going to
ship your altimeters. That’s three different vendors you would need to keep track of, and you
would want to know beforehand how each unit sent out would be tracked. Would you have
them track it, or would you have to do it? Do they have some type of special software that
tracks everything, or would you need to buy some of your own?
You’d want to be able to track all of this efficiently and effectively. Also, it’s really important
that you build a relationship and rapport with your drop shipper. That way, if you have
problems like people get the wrong order, you’d want to know who you’ll be dealing with, how
they handle the refunds, and so on. Furthermore, you want to know how your drop shipper is
going to handle customer support for you. In some situations, they’ll handle your customer
support, and in others, you will. In either case, you’ll need to go over how customer support
needs to be handled with the drop shipper so that everyone is on the same page when it comes
to how everything will be handled.

As you are doing your research, there are a number of things that you should look up on Google

If you recognize the name Bernt Ullmann, it’s probably because he is the former president of
FUBU. He took this company from $70 million to $700 million in sales. He also brought the
brand Phat Fashions up from $80 million to $800 million. Right now, he’s the CEO of a company
called Star Branding, which he runs with Tommy Hilfiger. They’ve made over $5 billion in deals
with celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Adam Levine, Nikki Minija, and a number of other
celebrities.

Shopify has great features. They have a community of developers that create apps specifically
for Shopify. They also have a good support system, and Shopify sites are hosted on their
servers, so you don’t have to worry about any of that. They give you access to lots of themes as
well. You can get a pretty good, or even great, design for your store by buying a theme. There
are also free themes, but truthfully, they are pretty weak.
Shopify also does a good job when it comes to keeping their sites search engine optimized, and
there are some cool apps that you can plug in if you want to import goods from China. This
isn’t something that Greg and his team focus on because they feel like this is a very problematic
approach. They do acknowledge, however, that there is a lot of money to be made this way.
So, if you have the right mindset and have decided that’s what you want to do, then you
absolutely should.

This is a great platform to use if you have a large collection of products as well. They have
tagging systems and automation capabilities that make various collections easy to sell within a
store. So, Shopify can be a great platform to use, but there are some things you may want to
consider before using this platform. For instance, you have to pay extra for each app, and that
can get expensive. If you find that the platform isn’t working for you, it’s also pretty hard to
move your store elsewhere.
If you want to really make your store look cool, there are premium themes available for that,
but they can cost you anywhere from $140-$270. That’s not a great deal of money, but it does
cost extra. Furthermore, it can take dozens or even hundreds of hours to set up your store on
Shopify, even if you just have a small number of products. One of the biggest limitations of
Shopify is that the site doesn’t include a means for getting one-click upsells, except for an app
that you can get, which costs $300 a month to use.
Shopify doesn’t provide you with a means of using long-form product pages either. If you can
build a page that includes more information, pictures, and social proof, you’re much more likely
to sell a product. You really can’t do that with Shopify. Plus, if you are new to e-commerce,
there’s no training available through Shopify to help you in your marketing efforts. Coaching
and training is key because you’re more likely to have a failing business if you don’t implement
the right strategies starting out.
When it comes to the T-Rex community, training and coaching is considered a staple because
their success is dependent on yours. In other words, if you aren’t successful, then they aren’t
successful, so they have a vested interest in your success. A screenshot is shown above that
shows the results that some members have been able to get after being coached by one of T-
Rex’s experts. According to Greg, these people weren’t making more than $1,000 a day in sales

Amazon is a high-traffic channel. They get tons of traffic, and it’s a buyer’s marketplace. When
people go to Amazon, they are looking to buy things. Furthermore, a huge benefit of selling on
Amazon is that people trust it. In e-commerce, gaining people’s trust is always a challenge. It’s
getting easier to convince people to buy things online, but you have to know what you’re doing.
Amazon has already built that trust with its customers, and you get to benefit from that trust
when you sell on this platform.

As you probably already know, Prime members get free shipping when they order products
from Amazon. You may even be a Prime member yourself. If your products qualify to be part
of this program, you can benefit a lot from selling them on Amazon. The platform also offers a
means of fulfillment, called FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon), and this has its own pros and cons.
However, in many instances, this can be very helpful since you don’t have to pay for your own
fulfillment warehouse, employees, etc.
Now, you have to understand that when you seel on Amazon, they charge you fees, meaning
that you can’t just sign up on Amazon and sell stuff without them cutting into your bottom line.
The fees they charge depend on what you sell and how you go about fulfilling your orders.
Additionally, you have limited or no control over your business when you use Amazon.
Literally, Amazon can shut down your listings anytime they want to. Most of the time, Amazon
is very reasonable, but do you really want the fate of your business to be held in someone
else’s hands?
One major problem that people have with selling on Amazon is keeping their inventory in sync.
It can become very challenging to keep the right inventory, especially if you are working with
multiple drop shippers or have money flow problems. Amazon also doesn’t sell customer data
with sellers. Technically, they are Amazon’s customers, not yours. This can be a massive
hinderance as well.
You want to have your own customers and your own business. You need to have control of
that business so that it has a future. Now, it’s a good idea to learn to leverage Amazon, and

other e-commerce platforms, which is something that’s taught to you within T-Rex’s training
system. Another aspect of using Amazon that you need to understand is that they literally can
steal your product and shut you down. This has happened a number of times.
Imagine getting your product up on Amazon, and almost immediately it starts selling really well.
You’re really happy about your success, and you feel content that your sales will continue to
rise and everything will be okay. And then, all of the sudden, you wake up and your product
isn’t there anymore, but now there’s an Amazon product that’s just like what you had. Simply
put, if they think they can reach high potential profits with a profit, they’ll kick yours out and
put a product of their own in its place.
If Amazon doesn’t get you, the competition might. The minute your product becomes
successful, the competitions coming after you. This could force you into having to compete
with prices, which can lead to a race to the bottom. Think about it. When you go to Amazon,
don’t you look for the best price? Amazon is very competitive in this way. Also, various
channels need to be approved. For instance, Amazon has a new program that allows you to sell
t-shirts, but it can take three months or more to get approval to do this. On top of all of that,
Amazon doesn’t provide any training on how to market your products either.

Of course, Greg is a bit biased, but he did break down the pros and cons of his own product.
One of the most beneficial aspects of this platform is that it’s built on WordPress. Nowadays,
most of the websites built are set up on Wordpress. This is great for you because there are
millions of Wordpress developers and that means it would be easy to find someone to
customize your site or improve it in any way.
Another one of the key benefits is the personalization choices that T-Rex provides. They
actually have a personalization engine built into their e-commerce platform. If you want to
personalize a shirt, a coffee mug, some canvas art, a nightlight for your kids, etc, you can create
those types of things, and this is the only software that they know of that will allow you to place
a personalization field right over the item you want to be personalized on the site. Once you
formulate your text or design, the item is printed in a print-on-demand type of manner.
You also have to take into account Greg’s internet marketing background. In fact, he’s been
working in this field since 1997, so he understands funnels, one-click upsells, sales pages, and
the like. T-Rex gives you the ability to create one-click upsells, and this is built right into their
technology. There are also all kinds of add-ons and apps available, just like you have with
Shopify, but they are all included in the program for free.

money is in the database, or your customer base, so they have included a survey builder and an
opt-in builder in their software. This is meant to help you collect leads and generate a

because the software integrates directly with a USA-based drop shipper. When you set up a
store with them, and someone buys something out of your store, you get paid retail and that
order automatically goes to Printex. Then, Printex puts the order together for you there, ships
it to your customer, and then bills you for the fulfillment. You never have to touch anything. It
all works automatically in the background.
This is an incredible service, but Greg believes that the most valuable thing that they do is
provide weekly marketing training to their members. They have hundreds of testimonials to
attest to the significance of this training. Greg brings in 7-figure earners in on a regular basis to
coach and mentor you. They share their best tips and tactics with you. These “ask the expert”
sessions are held every week like clockwork, and each week they teach on a new topic and
answer member questions. Greg claims that they are the best at it in the industry, and he is

Understand that T-Rex Ecom isn’t a system that’s designed for stores that sell thousands of
products each. It would take a long time for most people to build up to that level anyway.
They don’t have a developer community pumping out apps for them all of the time either, but
Wordpress does, and they don’t currently do anything to integrate with manufacturers in
China, but they do have some members that order from China. They just put together CSV files
to send their orders off to manufacturers. Again, you are open to using Printex, but you don’t

How to Market from Facebook

Almost everyone in the community uses Facebook to advertise because of its targeting
capabilities. You can identify your ideal client, put an advertisement in front of them, and really
“crush it” using Facebook.
Testing is a vital part of marketing, but people either forget this part of the process, or they skip
it altogether. Successful marketers are always testing different elements of a sales campaign,
from the colors used on buttons, to the pricing of a product, to the design of a product, etc.
Simply put, if you don’t test this stuff, you lower your chances of success immensely.

The screenshot above shows an example of how one might test a design. In this case, the
marketer asked his target audience which boot they liked the best. The marketer and his team
thought it would be the second pair, but it ended up being the third pair, hands down. That’s
why it’s important to test. You can’t predict what an audience is going to like accurately, so you
have to test different elements and see how your audience will react differently to each.
When you do this you’re also pre-conditioning the audience for the sale. If you aren’t getting
any engagement at all, your product probably isn’t going to sell. The marketer’s team went on
to test the different badges they could put on the boot. As you can see in the screenshot
below, they simply turned to the audience again to see what they thought. It ended up being
the second pair in this case. Next, they went on to test the design on different products, such
as tennis shoes, backpacks, and even purses. So, they were also testing for men and for
women.

Greg says that he loves to use Facebook for advertising because it allows you to get a lot of
engagement and figure out what’s going on at an extremely low cost. Plus, you can get very
methodical and detailed in your testing. There is an engagement and list-building strategy that
Greg and other members of the community like to use, and Greg thinks this is a perfect strategy
because as a former investment banker he knows that you always want to pay close attention
to your customer base and the total lifetime value of each customer.
According to Greg, contests are the best way to get people off of Facebook and onto your list.
In this example, a couple of people in the community have gone to eBay and found a Seattle
Seahawks crock-pot. Then, they put a picture together and told their audience, “Hey, we are
thinking of a number between 1 and 500. Comment below, and the first person to get the right
number wins the crock-pot.”
They tied this into some cool Facebook Messenger technology so that when a person votes
they would get a pop-up on their screen telling the person to guess again via Messenger so that
they could communicate further. This tactic allows the marketers to interact with their
audience proactively. You can see all of this demonstrated in the screenshot below.

Using the same product, this team of marketers also tried a different strategy. This time,
people who wanted to win the crock-pot were taken to a page where they could submit their
name and email address. Not only were they able to continue marketing to the people who
entered their email address on this page, but they dropped a retargeting pixel on the page so
that they could continue marketing to them in that way as well.
This is a really great strategy, and it’s one of the strategies that were used for their client, Nikki
Lund. She creates all of the clothes for Blake Shelton, and so the team decided to hold a
contest in which an audience member could win a jacket that was worn by him on The Voice.

Greg encourages his students to get creative in their marketing, but if you aren’t the kind of
person to come up with things like this, that’s okay because a number of different methods will
be taught to you as you review the training. Another one of the things that Greg recommends
in the training is using old-school sales pages because they can increase your sales by 200-
300%. If you’ve spent any time on the Internet at all, you’ve probably been to a long form sales
page before. You might hate them, but the fact of the matter is that they do sell more than
short form sales pages do.

Beneath this is a nice lifestyle picture accompanied by a great quote from Nikki. Then, to the
right of that, you can see the sales price, coupon code, an order button, and a link to look at the
reviews for this product. By the way, Greg points out that 30% of the people who buy this
product don’t even use the coupon code to save money, which is a pretty shocking statistic.

If you were to scroll down this page, you would see a picture of Nikki and be able to read a little
bit about who she is. This helps to build brand recognition for Nikki as well as giving people
more reason to buy. Beneath this, you’d see some bullet points that outlined more product
details for the hoodie, and then a number of five-star ratings are shown from the online store
where it’s shown. There’s also a video on the page that EXTRA TV did about Nikki’s clothing
line.
This long form sales page looks great and is very professionally put together. It looks beautiful
on mobile devices too. You just can’t do this stuff on Amazon or Shopify. A sales page such as
this would definitely increase the amount of sales that you could generate with a product. The
page also contains information about what clients Nikki represents, and at the bottom of the
page, you’d find a money back guarantee. This is the basic structure of any long-form sales

Greg’s top strategy for advertising profitably is using a funnel. Basically, every major retailer in
the world uses funnels to sell more. They try to get you to buy something inexpensive, and
while they have your attention they try to get you to buy more and more items. When Greg
creates a funnel, he usually starts by mapping it out in Powerpoint. An example of this is shown
in the screenshot below.

In this case, he starts out by marketing a kid’s t-shirt for $4.97, and then when they go to check
out, he tries to sell the customer a Comfy Critter for $29.95 with free shipping. From there, he
tries to sell them another Comfy Critter for a lower price, and if they don’t select these items,
then he tries to down-sell them with a matching shirt for Mom or Dad. After that, there will be
an exit pop-up that offers a discount. This funnel works extremely well.

That’s a great question. T-Rex has members from all around the world. You can literally do this

Can I ship products to countries outside of the US?
Yes. The team ships products all around the world, or at least to most countries that allow
them to. Sometimes that costs a little more in shipping and handling, but in most cases, the

Can I sell products that aren’t made by Printex?
