Key Components
Right Side Engine braking power increased by up to 67% for confident braking, particularly at low to mid RPMs and
at higher altitudes.
Cylinder head design is 50% less restrictive, reducing parasitic loss on the water pump and improving
fuel economy.
New piston assembly features a low friction piston coating for increased fuel economy.
Larger piston pin and connecting rod for optimal load distribution and enhanced durability.
Gear teeth are produced using a grinding process for smoother, harder and quieter gear surfaces.
Single, variable geometry turbocharger simplifies air management and increases fuel economy.

Left Side Stainless steel, laser welded, single stage EGR cooler delivers proven durability and performance, in a
compact, easy to service design.
Oil pan and crankcase are isolated via a specially designed rubber gasket that absorbs vibration before it
can resonate and get amplified through the oil pan.
The composite valve covers are lighter than traditional aluminum valve covers.
Increased computing power of the new engine control module eliminates the need for a separate
aftertreatment control module.
Fuel system produces 2,500 bar of pressure (36,300 psi) which helps to better atomize fuel into an
extremely fine mist, producing more complete, efficient combustion.
