Pertinent School Facts – Brief History LaSalle Language Academy was

named after the French explorer Sieur Rene-Robert Cavelier de LaSalle (1643-1687).

He explored the Great Lakes region of the United States and Canada, the Mississippi River,

and the Gulf of Mexico.

La Salle claimed the entire Mississippi River basin for France.

Pertinent School Facts – Brief History

LaSalle Language Academy became a Magnet school in 1981.

LaSalle enrolls students through a lottery process.

Kindergarten siblings participate in a separate lottery and on average half of the sixty new Kindergarteners are siblings.
