Full Service – Description

Full Service Intelligent Mail – A program based on the utilization of technology to improve the operations, communications and service of the USPS, in hopes of making it a more economically viable business.

Full Service – Benefits

Benefits of Full Service for the USPS:

• Streamline processes – save time and labor

• Gather critical data for analysis

• Identify issues that need addressing

• Allow them to become proactive instead of reactive

• Help them to provide better service

Benefits of Full Service for the Customers:• Postage savings

– $0.001 per piece for Presorted Standard, Periodicals and BPM flats

– $0.003 per piece for Presorted First Class

Note: no savings for saturation CRRT flats

• Permit fee waiver

• Visibility

• Free address correction

• Free tracking

Requirements for Participation• Electronic documentation (eDoc) submission

• Accurate By/For information

• Print Intelligent Mail Barcodes with unique serial numbers on mail pieces, trays/sack labels and pallet placards

• Maintain serial number uniqueness for 45 days

• Use of FAST (Facility Access and Shipment Tracking) for scheduling mail entry appointments

Key Process Notes: eDocs

eDoc – electronic submission of documents such as postage statements and qualification reports through the PostalOne! System.

Can be done using:• Mail.dat• Mail. XML• Postal Wizard• Intelligent Mail for Small Business (IMsb)

Key Process Notes: By/For DataBy/For Data – the identification of who the mailing was processed by and who it was processed for

• CRID – Customer registration identification – unique ID of up to 15 numbers issued by the USPS to identify each customer, not just by name but by physical business location. Used in eDocs to identify the eDoc submitter, permit owner, mail preparer and mail owner

• MID – Mailer identification – unique 6 or 9 digit number issued by the USPS as a sub-grouping under each CRID. Used as part of the IMB, as well as for identification within the eDocs

Verifying/obtaining By/For Data via the Business Customer Gateway:

• Logon to https://gateway.usps.com

• Choose “Manage Account” on the left

• Scroll down under “Mail Service Providers”

• Choose “Customer Validation Tool” to search for existing data

• Choose “Get MIDS/CRIDS” to assign new

numbers

Mail Anywhere – Description

Mail Anywhere – a program offered by the USPS which allows approved mailers to use the same permit at every location

Benefits

• No need to open a permit and pay permit fees at every post office you wish to enter mail through

• One permit/account to manage for postage payments

• The same indicia artwork can be used on all pieces• Opportunity to change entry options once list is

analyzed

Requirements for Participation

• Mailed at 90% Full-Service in the month prior to the request

• Submit electronic postage statements – Mail.dat, Mail.XML, Postal Wizard and/or Intelligent Mail for Small Business (IMsb)

• Within mail quality thresholds on scorecard

Key Process NotesAccount Number – nationally recognized account number associated with a permit

• CAPS account permits – Account Number is the CAPS number

• Non-CAPS permits – separate number for each permit at each post office

Verify Account Number using the USPS Customer Validation Tool on the Business Customer Gateway

Post Office of Mailing – the post office where the mail is being verified and entered. For drop ship mailings, it is the post office where the mail is being verified before trucking.

Note: USPS has a temporary hold on adding new customers to the Seamless Acceptance program until they work out some of the issues with existing customers
