On March 14, 2012, on the day of the A.C.L.U. visit to Ely State Prison and its infirmary, where Aparicio was housed then, he was retaliated against by correctional officers in the form of a “notice of charges”, because he tried to talk to ACLU staff who were visiting the ESP infirmary.
