1. INTRODUCTION Panasonic WX-C3010 Center Module is designed for digital wireless communications, which is used with drive-thru menu board, etc. The system operates on DECT method of 1.9GHz frequencies. The ECHO Canceller of the new function provides sound quality without talkback echo that accompanies digital processing. WX-C3000 series has the sound quality of customer’s voice, which has been improved since the WX-C1000 series and WX-C2000 series.

2. FEATURES 1.9 GHz DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications)

1.9 GHz DECT is used with center module to prevent the interference from microwave ovens or wireless LAN used with 2.4GHz DECT. Four-channel simultaneous communication in full duplex (TALK & PAGE) using DECT technology facilitates workflows at drive-thrus, and digital technology enables simultaneous communications. DECT technology can be used even in the places where wiring is difficult.

Talkback Echo Canceller

The new technology, Digital Acoustic Echo Canceller Processing, reduces talkback echo from the Order Taker or All-in-One Headset.

DNR (Digital Noise Reduction)

The DNR function provides sound quality without noise that accompanies digital processing. (WX-C3010 Center Module has the sound quality of customer's voice, which has been improved over previous Panasonic drive-thru systems.

Speed Team Mode

This SPEED TEAM operation is used at busy times for line busting. The outside microphone and speaker are disabled in this mode and range is boosted. Up to four Order Takers or All-in-One Headsets communicate orders from outside into the stores

Greeter

When the customer approaches the menu board, the voice message recorded in the Center Module is automatically output to the outside speaker. The Center Module has two memories, and you can select either message.

Manager Mode

You can set one headset (Order Taker or All-in-One Headset) to the manager mode in the store. Please refer the operation manual of Order Taker or All-in-One Headset about the setting method. The headset set to the MANAGER MODE has following priority. • The manager can interrupt store personnel's TALK or PAGE at any time by monopolizing one channel by priority. • The Manager can hear audio from POS alone (setting necessary).

Auto Talk Lock

When a customer approaches the menu board, it is automatically possible to make the predetermined personnel’s headset (Order Taker or All-in-One Headset) stay in TALK state. (The Talk Lock Mode is assumed.) In regard to the method of Auto Talk Lock Mode setup, refer to the operating instructions of the Order Taker (WX-T3020) or the All-in-One Headset (WX-H3050).

Vehicle Detector BEEP DAY/NIGHT

In the case of Double Drive-Thru configuration, it is possible to select the Vehicle Detector Beep tone to be heard when a customer approaches the menu board. Day/Night setup can be made by button selection at the front panel of this unit. When the Day mode is set, the Beep Day/Night indicator of the center module will light in yellow. When the Beep Day/Night button is pressed, the Night mode is assumed and this indicator will disappear.

Outside Speaker Level DAY/NIGHT

The Outside Speaker audio level can be set up. Day/Night setup can be made by button operation at the front panel of this unit.

3. PRECAUTIONS This center module is a sensitive device and should be regarded as such. If handled carelessly, the hazard of electric shock may exist. In order to utilize the instrument to its fullest potential, please consider the following precautions. 1. Handle the equipment with care. This equipment contains sensitive components that can be damaged by improper

handling or storage.

2. Refer any servicing to qualified service personnel. Do not attempt to disassemble the center module, order taker unit, or other units. In order to prevent electrical shock, do not remove screws or covers. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.

3. Use a dry cloth to clean the center module, order taker unit, or other units if soiled or dirty. If necessary, a mild detergent may be used.

4. Take immediate action if the center module or order taker unit becomes wet. Turn the power off and have the unit examined by qualified service personnel. Do not expose the center module or order taker unit to rain or moisture. Do not operate the equipment if it is wet.

5. Follow normal safety precautions to avoid personal injury.

6. Properly store the order taker unit (WITH HEADSET PLUGGED IN) in the order taker unit case to prevent damage to equipment.

7. Replace a missing microphone cover and ear speaker cover of the headset with a new one to prevent distortion or loss of audio.

8. Repair or replace any defective components.

9. Turn off the order taker unit when not in use. This will help save the battery life.

10. When the power indicator lights up in red and a pulsing beep tone is heard in the headset, charge battery to the order taker unit (if using WX-T3020 in combination with WX-H3027) or all-in-one headset (if using WXH3050).

11. Clean the battery charger of the order taker unit or all-in-one headset in accordance to the manufacturer instructions at least once a month. (Refer to the operating instructions of the battery charger.).

12. Perform regular preventive maintenance by testing accessories (headset and batteries, etc.).

At that time, this indicator lights-up. When the Optional Function Button is pressed on the Order Taker or All-in-One Headset side again, the talk or page operation is recovered. The Telephone Indicator is turned OFF.

(green/yellow/red) (SELECT) This indicates that the greeter memory has been selected.Each memory has a capacity to record a message for 16 seconds at the maximum. 1: This indicates that the greeter memory has selected 1. (The message of “Please pull forward” is a factory default.)2: This indicates that the greeter memory has selected 2.Off: Greeter is Off. Green: When the greeter output level set in LOW, the indicator lights up in green. Yellow: When the greeter output level set in MID, the indicator lights up in yellow. 26.Greeter Memory Select Button (SELECT)

This button selects either of the greeter memories.

27.Greeter Start Delay Indicator (Yellow)(START

DELAY) This indicates that the greeter start delay has selected on.

28.Greeter Start Delay Button (START DELAY)

This button turns the greeter start delay normal and delay.

29.Greeter Record Indicator (Red) (REC)

This indicates that while recording in the selected greeter memory (1 or 2).

31.Greeter Output Level Down/Up Buttons (VOLUME,

UP/DOWN) These buttons control the up or down the output level ofgreeter. According to the operations on the buttons, theSELECT indicator changes the indication.

32.Greeter Playback Button (HEADSET PLAYBACK)

When this button is pressed, Order Taker or All-in-OneHeadset plays back the message from selected greeter.

33.Greeter Output Auxiliary Speaker Indicator

(Green)(DESTINATION, AUX) This indicator lights when the greeter message output isprovided through the auxiliary speaker.

This indicator is toggled ON when the auxiliary input sound is provided through the auxiliary speaker.

This indicator is toggled ON when the communication between store personnel and a customer is provided through the auxiliary speaker.

41. Page On/Off Indicator (Green) (PAGE)

This indicator is toggled ON when the communication among store personnel is provided through the auxiliaryspeaker.

42. Beep On/Off Indicator (Green) (BEEP)

This indicator is toggled ON when a beep is provided through the auxiliary speaker.

43. Echo Canceller Effect Level Control Indicator

(ECHO CANCELLER) The removal rate of the echo canceller, intended to eliminate the echo returned from the menu board, is setup. OFF: Off LOW: Green MID: Yellow HIGH: Red

44. DNR Effect Level Control Indicator (DNR LEVEL)The more the noise is reduced, the lower the sound quality will be. The table on page 27 shows the relationship between noise reduction level and sound quality. OFF: Off LOW: Green MID: Yellow HIGH: Red

[ID REGISTRATION]

4.2 Order Taker 4.2.1 Order Taker Unit (WX-T3020) Major Operating Controls and Their Functions Order Taker WX-T3020 is exclusively designed for Panasonic Wireless Communication System, which is used with drive-thru menu boards, etc. By using optional Headset WX-H3027, users can communicate with other store personnel and customers.

4.2.2 All in One Headset (WX-H3050) Major Operating Controls and Their Functions All-in-One Headset WX-H3050 is exclusively designed for Panasonic Wireless Communication System, which is used with drive-thru menu boards, etc. This headset is equipped with the microphone and earphone as well as battery compartment and control buttons. With the built-in antennas, transmitter, and receiver, users can communicate with other store personnel and customers.

1.Battery Lock [EJECT]

When removing the battery, slide out the lock. When loading a battery, insert the battery until the lock clicks.Please note the direction that inserts the battery.

2.Talk 1 Button [T1]

This button controls communications with (to) the customer. When the button is released, you can hear any customer who is at the menu-board. While the button is held down in the Press-To-Talk mode, you canspeak to the customer. When the button is pressed in the Talk-Lock mode, you can speak to the customer until you press the button a second time.

3. Talk 2 / A/B Lane Selection Button [T2, A/B]

This button can be set to two functions by the DIP switchsetting. Refer to P.14 "DIP Switch Setup". [T2] This button controls communications with the customeron Lane B of double-drive-thrus. When the button is released, you can hear any customer who is at the menu board. While the button is held down in the Press-To-Talk mode, you can speak to the customer who is at the menu board. When the button is pressed inthe Talk-Lock mode, you can speak to the customer until you press the button a second time. [A/B] This button switches from Lane A to B and vice versa. The lane indicator 8 displays the selected lane in yellow(A) or green (B).

4.Page Button [P]

This button controls communications with store personnel. When the button is released, you can hear the communications among store personnel. While the button is held down in the Press-To-Page mode, you can speak to store personnel. When the button is pressed in the Page-Lock mode, you can speak to the store personnel until you press the button a second time. (page lock is an option)

5.Optional Function Button [R]

This button is intended for functional extension. When the Order Taker is set in the manager mode and this button is pressed, operation cannot be forwarded for talking or paging. At that time, the Telephone Indicator of the Center Module lights. To recover the talk or page operation, press this button again. The Telephone Indicator is turned OFF and the talk and page operationbecomes possible.

6.External Device Control Button [C]Press and hold the C button to turn on the external device. (requires additional user circuitry)

7.Power Indicator

The indicator shows the status as follows.

Green: Power is supplied, and the unit is operating. Green blinking: Power is supplied and Manager mode

is activated. Red: The battery requires recharging. Red blinking: ID is not registered, or the center module

is set to the ID Registration mode. 8.Lane Indicator

Lights yellow or green to indicate which the lane is in operation.

Yellow: Lane A is selected. Green: Lane B is selected. Yellow blinking: Lane A is being selected, and either

the Talk or Page mode is activated. Green blinking: Lane B is being selected, and either the

Talk or Page mode is activated.

9.Volume Control Buttons [VOL, +/– ] Pressing the respective buttons will increase or decrease the sound level. Audio level beeps will be heard corresponding with the level.

10.Power Button [POWER]

Pressing the button will turn the Order Taker on. Pressing the button again for 2 seconds or more will turnthe Order Taker off.

11.Earphone Output Jack

This jack is used for connection with the Panasonic WXH3027 Headset.

12.Microphone Input Jack

This jack is used for connection with the Panasonic WXH3027 Headset.

13.Switch Compartment

Do not open the cover of this compartment. Only qualified service personnel or system installers should open it.

14.Battery (Optional accessory)

4.2.3 Operating Procedures

[ALL in One Headset WX-H3050] 1.Press the power button to turn on the headset.

[Order Taker Unit WX-T3020 ] 1.When connecting the headset plug to this product,

hold the plug and push it straight into the earphone output jack and microphone input jack.

2.Wear the headset. 3.Adjust the head pad so that the earphone is placed on

your ear.

4.Rotate and bend the microphone boom so that the

microphone is placed near your mouth.

4.2.4 ID Registration • To talk with the headsets (Order Taker and All-in-One Headset), ID registration is required. • For ID registration, set the center module in ID registration mode and make operation of ID registration by means of a follower unit.

1. Press the ID Registration button of the center module for 2seconds or more. The system is changed to the ID Registration mode.

2. While holding down the T1 and T2 buttons simultaneously, hold down the power button to turn on the Order Taker. The Order Taker enters the ID Registration setting mode where the indicators and buttons have different functions than in normal operation. You will hear "ID Registration Mode" and the power indicator will blink yellow.

3. Press the T1 button and the headset will search for the center module. You can hear "Connecting center module A" and the lane indicator will blink yellow. * Press the T2 button (at double-drive-thru), for other center modules. You can hear "Connecting center module B" and the lane indicator will blink green. When the ID Registration succeeds, you will hear "Registration complete" and the headset number, and the power indicator stops blinking and stays on.

4. When IDs are registered on all headsets, press the ID Registration button of the center module, ID registration mode is completed. The power indicator of the headset will change from yellow to green.

Note: • If ID registration fails, a warning sounds "beep" and then you will hear a voice prompt say "Failed". If registration fails,

the ID is not registered and the "Power" indicator blinks red. If this happens, turn off the power and try registering again. • All-in-One Headset or Order Taker that can register in one center module is up to 30. If you register IDs exceeding 30,

the unused ID that has been registered is automatically deleted in chronological order.

• If ID registration is performed for 2 or more headsets, follow the steps 2-4 individually.

4.2.5 Deletion of ID To delete the registered ID of All-in-One Headset, follow the steps below. 1. Hold down the POWER button for more than 2 seconds to turn off the power of All-in-On-Headset. 2. To delete an ID that is registered for LANE A, keep pressing the T1 and C buttons simultaneously and start up the power of All-in-One Headset. To delete an ID that is registered for LANE B, keep pressing the T2 and C buttons simultaneously and start up the power of All-in-One Headset. The power indicator then blinks in yellow.

3. Press the P button while the power indicator keeps blinking in yellow. The ID that is registered for LANE A (or LANE B) is deleted.







4. The power indicator turns to blinking in red. A message of "ID is not registered" is heard from the All-in-One Headset

speaker.

4.3 Battery Loading & Replacement Note: • Prepare a fully charged battery. • Battery replacement is recommended when the power indicator lights up in red and a constant beep is heard in the headset.

4.4.2 Battery Charger Preparation/Installation It is possible to use this charger either by laying on a level place or mounting on the wall. 1. Insert the DC connector of AC adaptor into the DC jack of charger.

2. Pass the cable tie through either of the cable rings at the side of charger, and make a loop with the cable tie.

3. Pass the DC cable through the loop of cable tie, and pull the end of cable tie to fasten the DC cable to the cable ring.

4. Plug the AC adaptor into the AC outlet. When Mounting the Charger on the Wall IMPORTANT:

Securely clamp the DC cable to this battery charger and

screw the DC cable to the wall using the provided cable clamper. 1. Secure the provided mount bracket to the rear of charger

screws (x5). • Procure 5 mounting screws according to the material

118 N 12 kgf or more. • If a wall board is too weak to support the total weight,

the area shall be sufficiently reinforced.

4.4.3 How to Charge Batteries It may take around 3 hours to complete the charging. 1. Insert the rechargeable batteries into the battery charger until they click. 2. Plug the AC adaptor into the AC outlet. LED indicator will light yellow. 3. When charging is complete, the LED indicator will turn green. 4. Remove the batteries from the charger. CAUTION:

When an error occurs during charging, the LED indicator will blink yellow and green alternately.

In such a case, remove the batteries from the charger, or change the slot to charge. If the

problem cannot be solved, contact your dealer.

5.3 Installation Preparations 1. Before installation confirm the following: (A) Unpack the equipment and check for any damage. Make sure all equipment needed to complete the installation is on site. Record all serial numbers.

(B) Make sure that Loop Coil cable is installed, or sonar detector in useable location is used. There must be a continuous dry contract closure when the vehicle is at the speaker post.

(C) Confirm a clear conduit path into the building dedicated for Center Module cables.

(D) The Center Module is set up from the two AC outlets within 6ft.

2. Start charging batteries so they are useable for system testing. Note: Because of the many variations in store design, consult with the construction engineer and store for

proper locations of all equipment and conduits. 3. Confirm the Center Module location and securely mount it to the wall. (A) The clearance to the tip of Center Module and the ceiling is necessary by at least 5 inches. (B) The area is not surrounded by thick wall or shielded by reflective metals.

4. If ordered, mount Vehicle Detector near the Center Module. Make sure the AC cable will reach the outlet. 5. INSTALLERS NOTE: Most new speaker posts have internal positions to mount both speaker and microphone. For these installations we recommend using 2 of the WX-C550 speaker's for best overall clarity. For these type installations see instructions.

(A) For older speaker box installation where their is no room for a second internal. WX-C550 speaker see installation instructions.

(B) Install the WX-C550 used as microphone in the top place provided, this location is usually the closet location on the speaker post to the customer cars driver window. Position the microphone up to the speaker box grill area. It is important to pack acoustic installation around the microphone to prevent echo and feedback from the speaker. Install the second WX-C550 as speaker in the lower section of speaker post. If possible pack acoustic insulation around the speaker. Float the microphone in the acoustic material. Do not let the speaker touch the speaker post housing.

(C) The larger WX-C550 speaker is used as a microphone. The WX-C550 is not a waterproof speaker and must be mounted in the space provided inside the menuboard or speaker post. The smaller WX-C1050 is the waterproof speaker. This speaker will be mounted outside underneath the microphone. Make sure the acoustic installation is installed in the WX-C550 after mounting.

6. The Panasonic WX-C688 supplies all the cables needed for installation and are fire rated CL-2 to meet zoning requirements.

7. Close up the speaker post.

5.3.1 Mount Center Modules on Wall Fix the center module directly to the wall, using the prepared 4 screws. (These screws are not furnished.) The Center Module was designed to be mounted on a wall directly. Please be advised of the following: IMPORTANT:

• Procure 4 mounting screws according to the material of the installation area. In this case, wood screws and nails should not be used.

Recommended screw: M4 x 25 mm

• Required pull-out capacity of a single screw/bolt is 118 N 12 kgf or more. • If a wall board is too weak to support the total weight, the area shall be sufficiently reinforced.

5.3.2 Wiring to the Center Modules 1. Remove the terminal cover. Slide the front cover

downwards by pressing its arrow marked part and pull thelower side of the cover toward you.

4. Mount the cabled socket on the main unit.

Note: Insert the socket firmly into the main unit.

2. Insert a “minus” screwdriver in the slot as illustrated and remove the terminal socket from the main unit.

5. Slide the front cover from the bottom and mount it on the

main unit. Note: Surely attach the front cover to the main unit.

3. Connect the wiring material to the terminal socket. Use

the “minus” screwdriver and loosen the screw located onthe upper surface of the terminal socket. Peel off the sheath from the tip of the wiring material and insert the cable tip in the terminal socket. Firmly tighten the loosened screw by means of the “minus” screwdriver. Repeat the above-mentioned same procedure for each terminal.

Notes: • Process the wires according to the following:

Recommended wire type: AWG 28 - 16 (Do not use soldered wires.) Length to be stripped: 7 mm ± 1 mm 9/32" ± 1/16" Diameter of screw: ø 2 mm 3/32"

• Check to be sure that the wires are securely connected.

5.3.3 Clamping the Power Plug and Power Cord 3. Insert the power plug into the power cord inlet.

4. Push the holder forward until the holder touches the

power plug.

IMPORTANT: Securely clamp the power plug to this center module and

screw the AC cable to the wall using the provided AC cable clamper. 1. Insert an AC cable holder into the hole under the AC

inlet.

5. Lock the holder.

2. Slide the holder to the backward by pushing down the

clamp lever.

6. Clamp the AC cable with the provided clamp, and securethe AC cable clamper to the wall by fastening the screw(locally procured).

6. SETUP

6.1 Center Module Installed System Setting After the completion of installation work, system setup shall be made according to the equipment to be connected and the operation mode. Setup operation for the installed system shall be carried out by the use of the PREV/NEXT button and the SEL button.

1. Turn on the power supply of the center module. 2. Press the [NEXT] button or the [PREV] button.

Indicator of the selected setup item blinks. Each time the [SEL] button is pressed, there is a reciprocal changeover between ON Select and OFFSelect status. The ON/OFF status can be defined bythe style of indicator blinking. OFF: Lighting time is short and unlighting time is

long. ON: Lighting time is long and unlighting time is

short.

3. When the ON/OFF is changed over, the selected

status is reflected on the system in real-time. 4. When the [NEXT] button is pressed, the next setup

item is selected. (The setup item selected will be moved by one to the lower position or to the top right.) When the [PREV] button is pressed, the previous setup item is selected. (The setup item selected is moved by one to the upper position or tothe bottom left.)

5. If any [NEXT], [SEL], or [PREV] button is not pressed

for 10 seconds, blinking of the indicator is finished.

6.1.1 Setup operation for Auxiliary Speaker The sound output is set up for the AUX SP.

6.1.5 Lane Select In the case of Double-Drive-Thru, one unit of Center Module is set for Lane A and Lane B, respectively. Only for the Center Module of Lane B, the Dual Lane is set at ON. When Lane A or Lane B setup is changed over, the center module will be restarted automatically. If the [TALK] and [PAGE] indicators begin to blink after restarting, check the connections between both center modules. Red: Lane A (Generally, this setting is used. This setting is default.) Green: Lane B Note: If lane setting is changed, ID registration should be reset.

6.1.6 POS Remote This setting is made when the POS Remote function is used. ON (Green): POS Remote Control is enabled. When ON is selected, the following button settings for the Center Module

become invalid:

6.1.7 TX Power Setting The transmission power for the center module is set for maximum range. If there is any radio interference with neighboring shops, set the transmit power to OFF. ON (Green): Normal Power (Generally, this setting is used. This setting is default.) OFF: Reduced Power (25%)

6.2 Center Module Operational Setting

6.2.1 Speed Team This SPEED TEAM operation is used for line busting. The outside microphone and speaker is disabled in this mode. An Order Taker or All-in-One Headset communicates order from outside into the stores in a full duplex mode. 1. Press the SPEED TEAM button of the Center Module. 2. The Order Taker or All-in-One Headset allows the operator to hear the voice prompt of the "SPEED TEAM ON". 3. The Order Taker or All-in-One Headset allows the operator to communicate by pressing the PAGE button. 4. Press the PAGE button, and communication can be performed in the PAGE-LOCK mode. (Even if the PAGE button is set to PTP, it operates by PAGE-LOCK.)

5. Press the SPEED TEAM button of the Center Module again, the SPEED TEAM mode will be released. The Order Taker or All-in-One Headset allows the operator to hear the voice prompt of the "SPEED TEAM OFF".

Note: • TALK is prohibited in the speed team mode. If TALK is attempted with the Order Taker or the All in-One Headset, a voice prompt of "Operation not allowed" is heard from the headset speaker.

• If POS Remote is set for ON, you have to note that no button operation of the speed team is possible at the center

module.

6.2.2 Vehicle Detector BEEP DAY/NIGHT In the case of Double Drive-Thru configuration, it is possible to select the Vehicle Detector Beep tone to be heard when a customer approaches the menu board. Day/Night setup can be made by button operation at the front panel of this unit. When the Day mode is set, the Beep Day/Night indicator of the center module will light in yellow. When the Beep Day/Night button is pressed, the Night mode is assumed and this indicator will disappear. Note: • If POS Remote is set for ON, you have to note that no button operation of the Beep Day/Night is possible at the center module. DAY mode: When you are taking charge of lane A, if the vehicle detector is on the lane A, you will hear the beep A. If the vehicle detector is on of the lane B, you will not hear the beep B.

NIGHT mode: When you are taking charge of lane A, if the vehicle detector is on the lane A, you will hear the beep A. If the vehicle detector is on of the lane B, you will hear the low level beep B. When both vehicle detectors are on, you will alternately hear the beep A and the low level beep B.

*1: When you press the button T1, the beep will change to low level beep B only.*2: When you press the button T1, the beep will change to low level beep A only.

6.2.3 Outside Speaker Level DAY/NIGHT The Outside Speaker level can be set up. Day/Night setup can be made by button operation at the front panel of this unit.

When the Day mode is set, the Outside SP Level indicator of the center module will light in yellow. When the Outside SP

Level button is pressed, the Night mode is assumed and this indicator will disappear. DAY mode: Normal level NIGHT

mode: 50% level (Attenuation)

Note: • If POS Remote is set for ON, you have to note that no button operation of the Outside Speaker Level is possible at the

center module.

6.2.4 Vehicle Detector Normal/Override On The Vehicle Detector operation can be set up. Normal/Override On setup can be made by button operation at the front panel of this unit. When the Override On mode is set, the V/D Override indicator of the center module will light in yellow. When the V/D Override button is pressed, the Normal mode is assumed and this indicator will disappear. NORMAL: The vehicle detector turns on only when a vehicle is detected at the menu board. When the detector turns on,

a beep tone is heard in the headset. When the Talk button is pressed on the Order Taker or All-in-One Headset side, the Outside Speaker and the Outside Microphone are turned ON at the menu board. When the vehicle leaves, the vehicle detector turns off. When setting the normal position, Auto Talk Lock mode is enabled.

OVERRIDE ON: The vehicle detector is always turned on. When setting the override on position, Auto Talk Lock mode is

invalid.

6.2.5 Talk/Page Release In Talk or Page mode, any talk is temporarily interrupted at the headset (Order Taker or All-in-One Headset). Operation of Talk/Page Release is possible by button operation at the front panel of this unit.

Note: • If POS Remote is set for ON, you have to note that no button operation of the Talk or Page Release is possible at the center module. • It is impossible to release the Talk or Page mode of the All-in-One Headset or Order Taker in the manager mode.

6.3 Center Module Greeter Setting

When the customer approaches the menu board, the voice message recorded in the Center Module is automatically output to the outside speaker. The Center Module has two memories, and you can select either message.

[Method of recording message]

1. Press the Greeter ON/OFF Button of the Center Module. The Greeter ON/OFF Indicator will light in yellow.

2. Press the Greeter Memory Select Button of Center Module and select the memory 1 or 2.

3. Press the Greeter Record Button of Center Module. The Greeter Record Indicator will light in red.

4. Hold down the PAGE button at the PTP setting. Pressthe PAGE button at the PAGE LOCK setting. A messagecan be recorded for 16 seconds at the maximum.

5. Release the PAGE button at the PTP setting. Press thePAGE button again at the PAGE LOCK setting. When recording is complete, one each of the recorded messages is soon reproduced thereafter.

Notes:• At the time of shipment from the factory, a message of

“Please pull forward” is recorded in Message 1. If anyrecording is performed on Message 1, the original message will be overridden by the new message.

• No recording is possible during Greeter reproduction. • It must be noted that the talking sound is also recorded

if TALK operation is attempted during recording. [Output setting of Greeter]

1. Press the Greeter ON/OFF Button of the Center Module. The Greeter ON/OFF Indicator will light in yellow.

2. Press the Greeter Memory Select Button of the CenterModule, and select the memory 1 or 2.

3. Press the Greeter Playback Button of the Center Module, and set the output level of message to the optimum level by the Greeter Output Level DOWN/UP Buttons.

4. Set the output destination of the message. • Output to the auxiliary speaker

Press the Greeter Output Auxiliary Speaker Button ofthe Center Module. The Greeter Output Auxiliary Speaker Indicator will light in green.

• Output to the Headset Press the Greeter Output Headset Button of the Center Module. The Greeter Output Headset Indicatorwill light in green.

6.4 Order Taker Unit (WX-T3020), All in One Headset (WX-H3050)

6.4.1 Opening the Switch Compartment 1. Press the power button for 2 seconds or more to turn off the headset. 2. Unscrew the screw and open the switch compartment. 3. Set the switches as described below. 4. After finishing the setup, replace the cover. 5. Turn on the headset.

6.4.3 Auto-Talk-Lock setup (for only one headset) When a customer approaches the menu board, it is automatically possible to make the predetermined personnel’s headset (Order Taker or All-in-One Headset) stay in TALK state. (The Talk Lock Mode is assumed.) In regard to the method of Auto Talk Lock Mode setup, refer to the operating instructions of the Order Taker (WX-T3020) or the All-in-One Headset (WX-H3050). For a headset where Auto-Talk-Lock is set up, it has a function to select [Talk] automatically when the vehicle detector has become active, and you can talk with the customer at the menu board. 1. Confirm that the DIP Switch 1 of the headset is ON, the DIP Switch 2 is set at the objective lane, and the power of the headset is OFF.

The message "Hello Headset **" (** is the number of headset) is output from the speaker of the headset, and the power indicator blinks green and red alternately for 3 seconds. While the indicator is blinking, press the T1 or T2 button. (LANE A: T1 button, LANE B: T2 button) Auto-Talk-Lock will be set up, The message "Auto-Talk- Lock ON" is heard from the speaker of the headset. When the T1 or T2 button is not pressed, the headset assumes an ordinary operation mode.

3. In the case of a failure in Auto-Talk-Lock setup, a voice of [Failed] is heard from the speaker of the headset. In this case, the same procedures should be followed from Step 1 again.

Note: If the power of the headset is turned OFF, all the setting conditions for Auto-Talk-Lock will be canceled. This setting

should be carried out without fail when the power supply is started up.

6.7 Manager Mode (Only one headset) You can set one headset (Order Taker or All-in-One Headset) to the manager mode in a Lane. Refer to the operation manual of Order Taker or All-in-One Headset about the setting method. The headset set to the MANAGER MODE has following functionality. • The manager can interrupt store personnel's TALK or PAGE at any time by monopolizing one channel by priority. • The Manager can hear audio from POS alone (setting necessary)

Complete ID Registration, to do this setting. The headset set to the Manager mode has following functionality. • The manager can interrupt store personnel's TALK or PAGE at any time by monopolizing one channel by priority. • The Manager hears audio from POS alone.

1. Hold down the power button for two seconds or more to turn off the headset. 2. While holding R and T1 simultaneously, press the power button to turn on the headset. The headset enters manager setting mode where the indicators and buttons have different functions than in normal operation. You can hear "Connecting center module A" and power indicator is an alternate blinking of red and green. Also the Lane indicator A is blinking yellow.



Order Taker Unit


(WX-H3050) When you want to register the manager in another center module in a double-drive-thru environment, while holding R and T2 simultaneously, press the power button to turn on the headset. You can hear "Connecting center module B" and the power indicator blinks red and green. Also the Lane indicator B blinks green.

3. If manager mode setting is successful, you can hear "Manager" and the power indicator blinks green.

6.7.1 Canceling the Manager Mode 1. Turn off the power of All-in-One Headset that has been set for the manager mode. Order Taker Unit


(WX-H3050) 2. When LANE A is set in the manager mode, keep pressing the R and T1 buttons simultaneously and start up the power of All-in-One Headset. When LANE B is set in the manager mode, keep pressing the R and T2 buttons simultaneously and start up the power of All-in-One Headset. The power indicator then blinks reciprocally in red and green. A message of "Connecting Center Module A (or B)" is heard from the All-in-One Headset speaker.

7 DOUBLE DRIVE-THRU INSTALLATION In the case of double drive-thru, it is possible to talk or page by selecting either Lane A or Lane B. In regard to the method of lane changeover operation, refer to the operating instructions of the Order Taker (WX-T3020) or the All-in-One Headset (WX-H3050). 7.1 General Double Dual Drive-thru

8.2.1 WX-C550 Installation Note: 1.You should use a acoustical insulation so that C550 and a menu post cannot touch. (The menu post resonates with a speaker output, therefore a microphone sound quality and feedback may occur if not properly isolated.)

2.When using C550 for both a microphone and a speaker, you should insert the acoustic glass wool between the microphone and the speaker.

3.You should enlarge the hole of a speaker and a microphone portion as much as possible. Small holes can reduce audio, and cause feedback.

10. ADAPTING TO EXITING VEHICLE DETECTION SYSTEM For stores that have existing drive-thru, determine if the vehicle detection system currently in use is compatible with the Panasonic Wireless Communication System. There are numerous types of vehicle detection systems: PERFORMED LOOP COIL

The performed loop coil offers the most reliable vehicle detection. It will not be visible since it is almost always installed at the time the drive-thru area is poured with concrete or paved. With the vehicle detector connected to this loop coil, the detector LED lights when a vehicle is at the menuboard/speaker post and extinguishes when the vehicle leaves. This PVC encased coil is almost always compatible with the Detector System Model 917-1S Vehicle Detector with Panasonic Wireless Communication System.

SAW CUT LOOP COIL

This type of vehicle detection method is the second most and is normally installed in existing concrete or asphalt drives. An approximate 18" x 54" saw cut on the concrete or pavement is usually visible. With the vehicle detector connected to this loop coil, the detector LED lights when a vehicle is at the menuboard/speaker post and extinguishes when the vehicle leaves. This coil is almost always compatible with the Detector System. Model 917-1S Vehicle Detector with Panasonic Wireless Communication System.

SONAR

Although the Panasonic system is compatible with these units, it is preferred to use a loop coil for more reliable performance, it is a motion sensor device that is mounted outdoors and above ground. The movement of a vehicle in the proximity of the menuboard/speaker post triggers this device. This unit is subject to false triggering by large animals, people and other objects. Most sonar units have a relay with normally open (N/O) dry contacts that close when a vehicle is at the menuboard/speaker post. The relay contact opens as the drives away.

PHOTOELECTRIC

The Panasonic Wireless Communication System is compatible with this unit with a special relay module. However, a loop coil will provide superior service and reliability. A photoelectric unit is a device that optically determines if a vehicle is present at the menuboard/speaker post. Usually a relay is provided in these units that offers a N/O dry contact that closes and stays closed when a vehicle approaches the menuboard/speaker post. The relay contact opens when the vehicle drivers away.

Note: 1 The Panasonic Wireless Communication System is compatible with any vehicle detection system that provides relay containing N/O dry contacts that close with vehicle presence at menuboard/speaker post and stays closed unit vehicle levels. Dry contacts no voltage!

Note: 2 Before connecting any relay contact output to the Panasonic Center Module, use a voltmeter to confirm that no voltage exists on those contacts.

Note: 3 Any type of motion sensor is prone to false triggering due to weather, animals, people, etc.

Note: 4 Some old vehicle detection systems have a relay that would close when a vehicle approached the menuboad/speaker post, but would then open seconds later while the vehicle was still present. This type of vehicle detection is not compatible with the Panasonic Wireless Communication System.
