CHAPTER II: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Even if you haven't experienced the problem yet, wireless users on the road will someday: You take out a

laptop and boot it up, hoping to find a Wi-Fi signal you can use to go online –

That's where the new breed of WiFi Signal Locator Key ring with Flashlight comes in. They include

products like the WiFi Detector, a unit we looked at favorably a few months ago. The latest generation in

this category clobbers the competition with one specific aspect: it's smaller. It's about a quarter of the size,

and designed to go on a keychain and flashlight. Its other claims, however, are less substantiated.

The individual companies decide when and how to sell it. The same unit will also be sold in retail by

computer luggage under the name “WiFi Signal Locator Key ring with Flashlight “starting in June. The

instant and obvious benefit of this product is a big success in public, private, and enterprise sectors.

Unfortunately, the adoption of correct security measures for this gadget is lagging far behind the fast pace

at which these networks are being deployed. The presence of WiFi in most laptops and mobile phones, the

simplicity of independently installing WiFi networks, and the ease of exploiting wireless vulnerabilities

have together escalated the risks manifold.

Wifi is becoming a lifestyle. WiFi networks are everywhere: from Offices, warehouses, retails stores, and

schools to hotel lobbies, airports, coffee shops, and on the street. WiFi is easy to install and convenient to

use. The plug-and-play nature of the technology and the unguided nature of the wireless medium that are

central to the benefits of WiFi are also the primary reasons why we make wifi signal locator key ring

inherently vulnerable to a security breach and now comes with a flashlight. The simplicity allows users to

detect wifi signals without opening their mobile phones, laptop of personal computer.

CHAPTER III: INDUSTRY ANALYSIS

3.1 Future outlook and trends

Pioneering marketing strategist with entrepreneurial outlook, profound consumer insights and 2-year

background in marketing for both established multinational and new trendsetting products.

What you want to do is choose to pursue a product that is a good fit for you.   You want to use your talents

to the max and so choose a product that fits you the best.  Of course you can always bring on help, which

we will talk about in our forth article, but remember you will still be doing a lot of work.   Inventors are

invariably stretched and learn a lot through the invention process tackling obstacles and problems that they

never thought they could overcome -- so don't feel intimidated if you don't have all the skills in advance,

but you probably have a good idea of where your strengths are.

It would be perfect if you had all the mindsets and the skills to go with them -- find a great market

opportunity or new market angle, create a perfect product for that and then have the strong deal making

skills to make a few partners come together and launch the product -- but few, if any, inventors think so

flexibly and have so many skills in all of those different areas.

As an entrepreneur, you need to know your own mindset and talents and use those to your advantage.  For

instance, if you are a deal maker, you may not have the mindset and talents to focus enough on product

development to create the perfect product.  You may be better off looking for someone else to do that for

you and spend your time and energy working out a deal with some marketers and manufacturers to produce

and launch the product.

3.2 Analysis of Competitor

Competitor analysis has several important roles in strategic planning:

• To help management understand their competitive advantages/disadvantages relative to competitors

• To generate understanding of competitors’ past, present (and most importantly) future strategies

• To provide an informed basis to develop strategies to achieve competitive advantage in the future

• To help forecast the returns that may be made from future investments (e.g. how will competitors respond

to a new product or pricing strategy?)

3.3 Market Segmentation

The purpose for segmenting a market is to allow our marketing/sales program to focus on the subset of

prospects that are "most likely" to purchase our offering. This will help to insure the highest return for our

marketing/sales expenditures.

Market segmentation is a strategy that involves dividing a larger market into subsets of consumers who

have common needs and applications for the goods and services offered in the market. These subgroups of

consumers can be identified by a number of different demographics, depending on the purposes behind

identifying the groups. Marketing campaigns are often designed and implemented based on this type of

customer segmentation.

One of the main reasons for engaging in market segmentation is to help the company understand the needs

of the customer base. Often the task of segregating consumers by specific criteria will help the company

identify other applications for their products that may or may not have been self evident before. Uncovering

these other ideas for use of goods and services may help the company target a larger audience in that same

demographic classification and thus increase market share among a specific sub market base.

Market segmentation strategies can be developed over a wide range of characteristics found among

consumers. One group within the market may be identified by gender, while another group may be

composed of consumers within a given age group. Location is another common component in market

segmentation, as is income level and education level. Generally, there will be at least a few established

customers who fall into more than one category, but marketing strategists normally allow for this

phenomenon.

Segmentation of Needs:

Reduction in expenses

Improved cash flow

Improved productivity

Improved manufacturing quality

Improved service delivery

Improved employee working conditions/benefits

Improvement in market share/competitive position

3.4 Industry forecast

Businesses are forced to look well ahead in order to plan their investments, launch new products, and

decide when to close or withdraw products and so on. The industry forecasting process is a critical one for

most businesses. Key decisions that are derived from a sales forecast include:

-Employment levels required

- Promotional mix

- Investment in production capacity

Sales forecasting is a difficult area of management. Most managers believe they are good at forecasting.

However, forecasts made usually turn out to be wrong! Marketers argue about whether sales forecasting is

a science or an art. The short answer is that it is a bit of both.

A company’s share of market demand depends on how its products, services, prices, brands and so on are

perceived relative to the competitors. All other things being equal, the company’s market share will depend

on the size and effectiveness of its marketing spending relative to competitors.

The industry forecast is the expected level of company sales based on a chosen marketing plan and an

assumed marketing environment.

As a starting point for estimating market demand, a company needs to know the actual industry sales taking

place in the market. This involves identifying its competitors and estimating their sales.

An industry trade association will often collect and publish (sometime only to members) total industry

sales, although rarely listing individual company sales separately. By using this information, each company

can evaluate its performance against the whole market.

The income statement is also called the profit and loss statement. It outlines the sales revenues, your

business overhead such as costs, other expenses, taxes, and profit (or net income) over a certain span of

time, most likely quarterly profits which have more detailed information than a monthly statement. Your

annual details will project up to 5 years ahead. The income statement will document the ability of your

business to make a profit and your profit margin. The profit margin is what investors love to look at.

One important thing not mentioned here is the people you are working with, and I don't mean the literal

names of officers. But this is more a personal business protection thing. Be careful about who you choose

Wifi Signal Locator Key ring with Flashlight

5

Page 6: Wifi Signal Locator Keyring With Flashlight

to partner up with. A lot of business partnerships are started very blindly, with one person putting too much

trust and expectation in the other person. Many new businesses go sour quick because startup business

partners didn't really take the time to know more about the person they're working with, even if that person

is a friend.

Here's one very importantly thing that many people don't realize when formulating a good business plan.

There are free resources out there with your local government to help you start the whole process. Most

cities and counties in the United States offer free advice and business counseling at their Small business

Development Offices. All it takes is to set up a initial interview and you walk right in. Even internet based

businesses are now covered. They give a great outline as to the steps to follow in developing partnerships,

focus groups, finding funding from the government or corporations, and how to initiate a good marketing

plan online and off-line. Take advantage of all that free stuff.

4.5 Background of Entrepreneur

It is important for entrepreneurs to recognize the conditions that affect their venture, considering that there

are any numbers of reasons businesses do not succeed and that the majority of new business ventures fail.

Decisions made by such leaders set the future direction of the enterprise, as well as assist the direction and

expected success rate of the venture. The strategy of a firm is rarely developed and executed by one

individual.

One group that has not been extensively analyzed in the source literature but who also exert considerable

influence upon entrepreneurial ventures is advisory board members. These are typically individuals asked

to join an advisory board because they either offer some technical or professional expertise that the firm

does not possess (an engineer or a lawyer, for instance), or are an industry insider whose support and

influence could be beneficial to the firm (such as a potential customer or an influential expert in the

industry, like a physician or a scientist). These persons are typically given a small grant of shares, are paid

a nominal sum to provide advice and feedback to the firm, and are members that entrepreneurs would like

to have as a part of their company (either as an

The preceding literature review establishes that the entrepreneur who acts as a lone individual or who

launches an entrepreneurial firm with complete dictatorial authority is rare. More frequently, small groups,

typically consisting of TMT members, board members, investors (Venture Capitalists and Angels), and

outsider advisors plan and execute the strategy of an entrepreneurial venture. Thus, the proposed study is

Initiated to determine how the founders of entrepreneurial ventures use the assets and small group of

individuals around them to build a successful firm.

Entrepreneurs are those who begin by conceiving of an idea for a business venture, doing the research and

analysis to determine if the idea is marketable, completing a business plan, and performing all other

activities that are involved in establishing and operating the business. Further, entrepreneurship includes the

proclivity and character traits required for the successful creation and operation of a business, and the

different skills required at each phase of a company's birth, growth, and development

The issue of background and experience has recently come to the fore in teamwork studies, as more and

more businesses criticize business schools for graduating students who are “too technical and quantitative”

and have no critical or integrative thinking skills, and, worst of all, completely lack the “human relations

skills required of managers” in order to know how to run a team, must have developed a tacit knowledge

about how to run a team from his or her experience or background. The implication in this line of research

Wifi Signal Locator Key ring with Flashlight

8

Page 9: Wifi Signal Locator Keyring With Flashlight

is that a manager-to-be must pick up as much experience as possible from working in teams, in order to

know that a team involves so many variables in order to be effective. Because of the overall transformation

of the global economy from an industrial to a knowledge model, knowledge management, or the control of

the knowledge that is developed during projects by teams, has become a major area of interest

A company that manages its knowledge well experiences a continual and repeated marshalling of that

knowledge for the creation of new products and services. The knowledge created by innovations and the

experiences of various teams is not lost, but recycled, through the creation of management structures,

through the company, keeping it ever up-to-date in the knowledge it needs to survive in its field. The

primary target of knowledge management has been the explicit knowledge that is developed during projects

or through research.

I always take my client CEOs through a simple training session on how to read financial statements. Most

quickly understand the income statement, but become confused with how to read the balance sheet. They

also cannot figure out how to make sense of what is happening in the startup by reading a cash flow

statement.

Those are fundamental skills needed by leaders of startups. The core team should all be able to forecast all

three of the basic financial statements.

In addition, management should know how to value a startup. It is discussed in my two books. Veterans of

start ups can give you lessons. Venture capitalists may be a bit helpful. Lawyers understand how it is done.

Some Caps have that knowledge. Wherever you choose to get it, get it. That is what the game is all about:

building a great company from nothing that can go in five years with so much stock value that every

customer is excited. It all starts with being able to make sense of financial statements.

CHAPTER V: PRODUCTION PLAN

5.1 Manufacturing Process

Many shops, restaurants and bars provide free wifi internet service to customers. Wifi hot spot is available

everywhere from coffee shops to airports to homes. For manufacturers, Wi-Fi can offer much more than an

easy way to access email or the Internet -- it can seamlessly connect all parts of an organization, from

production and distribution to the executive suite.

That’s why we have made our product Wifi Signal Locator Key ring with Flashlight to help people connect

easily and fast without opening their laptops and mobile phones, checking for Wifi signals. This key ring

now comes with a flashlight to help the owner of this device easily find anything he wants to find

especially during darkness.

A marketing plan for a small business typically includes Small Business Administration Description of

competitors, including the level of demand for the product or service and the strengths and weaknesses of

competitors

1. Description of the product or service, including special features

2. Marketing budget, including the advertising and promotional plan

3. Description of the business location, including advantages and disadvantages for marketing

6.2 Logistic

Given the services performed by logistics, one can distinguish the main fields of it as it follows:

Procurement Logistics

Production Logistics

Distribution Logistics

After sales Logistics

Disposal Logistics

Procurement Logistics consists of activities such as market research, requirements planning, make or buy

decisions, supplier management, ordering, and order controlling. The targets in procurement logistics might

be contradictory - maximize the efficiency by concentrating on core competences, outsourcing while

maintaining the autonomy of the company, and minimization of procurement costs while maximizing the

security within the supply process.

Production Logistics connects procurement to distribution logistics. The main function of production

logistics is to use the available production capacities to produce the products needed in distribution

Wifi Signal Locator Key ring with Flashlight

11

Page 12: Wifi Signal Locator Keyring With Flashlight

logistics. Production logistics activities are related to organizational concepts, layout planning, production

planning, and control.

Distribution Logistics has, as main tasks, the delivery of the finished products to the customer. It consists

of order processing, warehousing, and transportation. Distribution logistics is necessary because the time,

place, and quantity of production differs with the time, place, and quantity of consumption.

Disposal Logistics' main function is to reduce logistics cost(s), enhance service(s), and save natural

resources.

Due to the increasing complexity of supplying businesses with materials and shipping out products in an

increasingly globalize supply chain, leading to a call for experts called supply chain logisticians. Business

logistics can be defined as "having the right item in the right quantity at the right time at the right place for

the right price in the right condition to the right customer", and is the science of process and incorporates

all industry sectors. The goal of logistics work is to manage the fruition of project life cycles, supply chains

and resultant efficiencies.

6.4 Forecast

The Alpha Wifi Locator Supply has a simple market forecast. The plan defines two target market segments,

and the forecast projects how many potential customers in each of those segments by years, for five years.

In the market forecast, the numbers indicate that there are thousands wifi users including establishments

and other offices, and that number is growing at an estimated two percent per year. There are also 500

businesses in the area, and that number is also growing at 2 percent per year.

These numbers are estimates. Nobody really knows, but we all make educated guesses. Alpha Wifi Locator

6.5 Control

Access control is considered from many perspectives in the Security Rule. From the technical perspective

one prominent issue is emergency access to systems during disasters or other problems requiring temporary

access by managers who need to override privileges. Systems should be designed to provide single us

passwords which are replaced daily and their use tracked closely. Certainly there will need to be exceptions

made for access to ePHI to provide patient care in disasters that may outstrip the ability to provide

temporary passwords and measures should be in place to ensure that once the need has passed the expanded

access granted is rescinded.

Many pieces of equipment and some software programs are designed to log users off after a pre-determined

period of inactivity. Either hardware or software logoff systems are adequate. Proximity based logoff

systems may become available and cost effective in the future. Such systems would use a proximity card

reader to determine whether the user is physically adjacent and thereby active.

This is no longer acceptable for even a brief period under the Security Rule. Payroll systems which can

automatically prompt IT services to terminate access are ideal.

Passwords are one of the most universal and widely distributed forms of computer security, without

individual and sufficiently complex passwords systems cannot be secured. While some legacy systems may

not support strong passwords most modern systems can do so. Strong passwords include numbers, symbols

and letters of different cases. Since these type of passwords can be difficult to recall the use of a pass

phrase acronym is advisable. Biometric identification devices and token based systems should be seriously

considered as they become available, viable and cost effective.

CHAPTER VII: ORGANIZATIONAL PLAN

7.1 Form of Ownership

Alpha Wifi Signal Locator Supplier was established few months by one of the group of students of

Bachelor of Science and Information Technology STI – Shaw Branch. Students have applied what they

have learned and experienced both inside and outside of the classroom. After a thorough observations and

brainstorming, they decided to put up a small business which is related to their course. Choosing a product

made it difficult for them to decide. After a month of meetings, researching and brainstorming they decided

to concentrate with one product only where only a few competitors offered. As the day passes, they

surveyed a lot of people and observing what is in-demand today.

One of their group mates unintentionally asks if there is a wifi signal in the area. He opened his phone and

tried to look for a wifi signal. And because of their curiosity and willingness to put up a small business,

they have thought what if they look for a thing or gadget that is related to wifi. After researching through

internet and words of mouth, they have found a gadget that will be a big help to all wifi fanatic, which they

all include themselves as one of it. And that’s how the have come up with heir product today which the

called Wifi Signal Locator Key ring with Flashlight. They decided to be a supplier of the said product

where they only have a few competitors

It is a big help for all because it is very useful and yet affordable, handy and light in weight, and because it

has a flashlight it’s like a thing with more than one purpose. As of now, they only offered the said product

inside Metro Manila, and still planning to make a provincial delivery to help provinces experience what

others are experiencing.

7.2 Management Team Background

To successfully run a business, the team continuously researches for additional features of their product,

and how to maintain the quality of it starting from the shipment until the product had been sold to

customers. They knew that their business will continue and soon will expand because of their abilities,

knowledge, team work and eager to run the business smoothly.

CHAPTER VIII: ASSESSMENT OF RISKS

8.1 Evaluate Weaknesses of Business

If you access Wi-Fi networks from your Laptop a lot, then you’ll know the frustration of moving around

with your laptop to try to find a good connection. The diminutive Mobile Edge Enhanced Wi-Fi Locator

solves this problem nicely. It will detect 802.11b/g signals up to 300 feet away using four LEDs to indicate

signal strength. It detects Wi-Fi signals only and ignores microwave and portable phone signals. Best of all,

it means you don’t have to boot up your notebook just to see if there is a Wi-Fi connection available.

8.2 New Technology Applied

Gigahertz

The unit of Gigahertz is GHz which is used to represent frequencies as billion of cycle per second and also

used for measurement of other frequencies. It is used with WiFi wireless network as computer performance

and radio frequencies. Gigahertz also used to measure clock speed of CPU therefore it is work as a bands of

electric spectrum. Today’s’ new technologies operates on S-band Satellite like Bluetooth etc.

WiBro

WiBro is the extended version of WiFi because it has no direct connection with WiBro. It is a wonderful

and latest technology of mobile broadband. WiFi operates on 802-11. WiBro design for the purpose of

connectivity while on move.

Hotspot

Through Hotspot people connect to internet on public places. There are lots of devices set up with wireless

network card such as note books, laptop, handsets etc. These all devices designed to connect with

surrounding areas via WiFi network. Place where network available for public use is called Hotspot. It is

available in café, restaurant, airport, universities, libraries, ground etc.

Wifi Signal Locator Key ring with Flashlight

17

Page 18: Wifi Signal Locator Keyring With Flashlight

A wireless signal can travel only so far. Specifically, a typical signal can extend as far as 1,000 feet (304.8

meters) in an unobstructed, open area and about 300 feet (91.44 meters) in a closed area that has

obstructions [source: Graves]. Because the signals themselves are invisible and the access points (routers)

that emit them are usually hidden, a WiFi detector can be a handy tool. WiFi detectors are basically just

gadgets that can quickly and easily tell you whether you're around a WiFi signal.

Before we can understand the mechanics of WiFi detectors, let's take a quick look at wireless Internet.

Although wireless Internet travels in waves similar to radio waves, it travels on very different frequencies.

It actually travels on frequencies significantly higher than those of other common devices, such as cell

phones. These frequencies that carry wireless Internet fall into the ranges of 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, depending

on the standard used.

In order to standardize the wireless Internet process, a group called the Institute of Electrical and

Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has specified 802.11 as the group of networking standards it uses. Such

standards specify how data travels through the waves. Different letter-signifiers further specify the set of

standards. Some common ones are 802.11b and 802.11g, both of which use the 2.4-GHz band. Within the

2.4-GHz band, you have specific channels. In the United States, wireless Internet has 11 available channels

on the 2.4-GHz band (other countries may have fewer or as many as 14).

The detector's job is to pick up on the waves with frequencies meant for transmitting wireless Internet. To

accomplish this task, the antenna must be designed to receive the right kind of signals. Much like the

antenna on your car radio is tuned to pick up on a specific range of frequencies (and not, say, frequencies

that carry police communications), the antenna on a WiFi detector is tuned to pick up only on the specific

band that carries wireless Internet. If you examine the specifics of detectors, many will list that they're

meant for picking up 802.11b and 802.11g networks.

Antennas alone, however, wouldn't make very useful travel gadgets. A detector must have some sort of

interface for alerting you when it does pick up on the right signals. Many will also gauge just how strong

the signal is and convey that to you. In addition, many modern WiFi detectors also come with processers

that allow them to demodulate (or process) the data to give you some valuable information before you

decide to set up camp with your laptop.

8.3 Contingency Plan

Any equipment should be regularly backed up to preserve the availability and integrity of the data.

Contingency plans for a disaster should take into account the need to restore data in a rational manner.

Wifi Signal Locator Key ring with Flashlight

18

Page 19: Wifi Signal Locator Keyring With Flashlight

Adequate contingency planning would be based on the criticality of the data, how frequently it is accessed

and how quickly it is needed. Paper backup methods should be devised if appropriate. The availability of

equipment to which to restore lost data must also be assessed. Back up strategies should take into account

not only disaster recovery needs, but also routine departmental workstation or system back up needs.

Damage to systems can be widespread and therefore machines and data for recovery purposes must be in

physically separate locations. If this is not possible then use of equipment such as fireproof safes are

recommended. Replacement equipment can be drop shipped on a pre-arranged basis.

CHAPTER X: APPENDICES

10.1 Market Research Data

There was a time when it was not too difficult for a company to gauge the trends that were driving the

market. Businesses could determine where their products or services would be best received, and they knew

exactly how to communicate with their customer base. Things are not that simple anymore. The population

as a whole has become much more diverse, and it is harder to determine along what lines consumers break

down. There are also far more outlets for buyers to choose from, so even reaching customers has become a

monumental task. In-depth market research data can help you better determine the tendencies of a

particular population. However, it is important to use data that is specific enough to benefit you.

A marketing plan for a small business typically includes small business administration Description of

competitors, including the level of demand for the product or service and the strengths and weaknesses of

competitors.

There are many great reasons to start a business of your own, and starting a new business is a great way to

enhance your own financial future.  By learning about small business financial statements and how they are

used you will be better able to obtain needed financing and secure the future of your new enterprise.  There

can be quite a competition when it comes to small business financing, and it is important to make your

business stand out from the rest.
