Performance Riverside, theInland Empire’s own nationallyrecognized professional theatre,is set to open the outrageouscult phenomenon The Rocky

Horror Show on October 31. One of thelongest running shows in London theatrehistory, the musical sensation became ahuge hit on the midnight movie circuitafter its cinematic debut.

Featuring one of the catchiest scores inmusical theatre history, The Rocky HorrorShow is an unforgettable assemblage ofthe most stereotyped “B” science fictionmovies, Frankie Avalon and AnnetteFunicello outings and nearly every rockand roll vintage. Conceived and writtenby Richard O’Brien, the show centersaround the naïve and newly engagedBrad and Janet, who seek refuge from astorm and end up in the asylum-like cas-tle of Dr. Frank ‘n’ Furter.

The Rocky Horror Show is filled withsome of the most bizarre and hilarious

characters in any production one is likelyto see. From the gender-bending Frank‘n’ Furter to his hunchbacked assistantand his demented sister, this is a musicaltheatre experience which makes theshow’s popularity easy to understand.

Eric Anderson stars as the over-the-topFrank ‘n’ Furter. His previousPerformance Riverside credits includePontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar, BillSykes in Oliver! and Chauvelin in TheScarlet Pimpernel. Other work includeshis recent Ovation nominated perform-ance as Tateh in South Bay Civic LightOpera’s Ragtime and Richard Nixon inJudy’s Scary Little Christmas at the VictoryTheatre in Burbank. The show is direct-ed and choreographed by John Vaughan, whom audiences may remember as hav-ing staged Big River, Oliver! and Camelot, among others.

This production is the first profes-sional mounting of the show inSouthern California since its revival atthe Tiffany Theatre in Hollywood sever-

al years ago. Please note that due tomature subject matter and language, parental guidance is suggested.

Club 316 for singlesIf you are a single adult who is tired of

the bar scene then you have to check outClub 316.

Club 316 is the Inland Empire’s largest,no alcohol nightclub that caters to today’sadult singles wanting a safer and healthiersocial life. Club 316 is the brainchild of thesingles at Crossroads Christian Church inCorona who were frustrated because all ofthe really great nightclubs that served fan-tastic music and dancing experiences alsoserved alcohol. They were also tired of“churchy” dances that served punch and

cookies in some gym with lame music. Sothey set out seven years ago to create anightclub that rivals any in the Inland Empireand they succeeded.

Club 316 offers a true nightclub experi-ence to over 400 single adults in the wor-ship center of one of the largest churchesin the area. They did this by providing ahuge 2500 square foot dance floor withprofessional disco and show lighting, threeDJ’s that play a mix of Rock, Christian, andCountry music, with free dance lessonsthrown in an hour before the dance begins.Oh, by the way, there is a full non-alcoholbeverage bar too.

Club 316 opens its doors only one timeper month; the next club date is Saturday,October 18 when they will open at 7 pmwith free dance lessons with the dancebeginning at 8 pm and going until midnight. There is a theme for the October Club 316– “Retro Nite” – just come in any 60’s, 70’s,or 80’s costume (nothing from the streetside or the dark side).

Cover is $10 at the door, which includesadmission to the club, dance lessons andappetizers.
