The Prom ZombieSome people swore the house was haunted. But I did not…until that single night. This
is the story of that night.
It was prom night. My date had left me on the side of the road. The moonlight was
my only light. It was shining on the pouring rain. I was walking on the sidewalk
with a sparkly blue dress and high heels when I heard a mild, growling like noise. It
was coming from that scary-like house. I started to walk faster and faster until I
realized I was running. Then I stopped to catch my breath for a second. Then I ran
all the way back home.
The next day, after I had my breakfast, I went back to that house. The door was
open a crack. I opened the door completely. I was afraid because of the loud
cracking noise. A monster would know I was there. Then the door fell over and
landed on the floor in front of me.
I went inside. When I went past a picture, its green eyes were following me. Then I
went half way across the room, and I saw it. It was a zombie. A ZOMBIE!
I ran into a room that looked like a torture room for kids. There were small skulls
hanging from the walls. I slammed the door closed. The zombie stared knocking on
the door. Then the door was down.
It was only my good friends, Sally and Jamie. They were laughing. It turned out
that Sally had been the person with the green eyes following my movements from
the painting. Jamie had been the Zombie in a costume.
Nothing was the same in our friendship after that.

How to Survive the Scariest Moment of Your Life
It all started one stormy night when my sisters and I were watching a brand new movie on the Disney Channel. It was raining hard. Lightning was flashing and thunder was booming, when it happened. (It may sound like the storm is the only scary part, but what was about to happen was going to be a million times worse.)
My sisters and I were on the couch not being bothered by the storm at all, when a huge bolt of lightning hit. It sent our whole house into complete light. When I was still shocked with amazement, I heard a loud, high-pitched scream. At that moment, I knew something was terribly, terribly wrong.
My sisters and I immediately knew the scream had come from my parents’ room. We ran downstairs to my see what had happened. We saw something horrifying. Our mom was on the floor with her eyes bugging out. She almost looked like she was dead. Then, it hit me. My mother has been shocked by a huge bolt of lightning.
I looked more closely at her. She was in a ball with her fingers sticking straight up. By this time, my dad was going berserk. Just by looking at his face you could tell what he was thinking: “She’s dead! She’s dead!” But I was not at all that worried about him. I ran over to my mom and screamed, “Are you okay?” “No,” she mumbled, “I just got shocked by lightning.”
After about five minutes, my father was driving my mother to the hospital. My sisters and I were watching TV nervously with my Nana. After a while, we fell asleep. About an hour later, I woke up to the sound of my dad excitedly telling my Nana that my mom was all right. I was absolutely overjoyed that she was okay. Now I never want anything to do with lightning—that evil little ball of electricity—ever again!!!
