Woodcut
To create a woodcut print an artist carves directly into a block of wood, covers the wood blockwith ink, and transfers the image onto a piece of paper. Common characteristics of woodcut printsare thick lines of ink, chiseled texture, and limited blending of color.

This tutorial will enhance your photograph with the characteristics commonly seen in woodcut prints.
STEP 1: File > Open your photograph file in Photoshop. STEP 2: Layer > Duplicate Layer
STEP 3: Filter > Other > High Pass. Set the radius as shown below.
STEP 4: Image > Adjustments > Threshold. All mid-tones are removed. Drag the slider to 128 (this number will varydepending on your image). See sample below.

STEP 5: Change the Layer Mode to Multiply. Double check your “Background copy” layer is highlighted in the layerspalette.
STEP 6: Select the “Background” layer in your layers palette. Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation and move theslider to tone down or to enhance colors.
