Jesus Was Born

• God’s promise came true! Gen. 3:15; Gal. 3:8,16; Titus 1:1-3

• Even though Jesus is King of kings, few acknowledged his birth & earthly existence.

Mt. 2:2; 1 Tim. 6:15; Phil. 2:7; Jn. 6:41-42

• On the day of His birth, some shepherds (Jews) did. Luke 2:7-20

• Angels did… vv. 13-15

• No “wise men” at the manger.

Wise Men Sought Jesus• Jesus had already come into the world.

– It was not the day he was born. vv. 1-2, 7,16– They went to a house, not a manger! v.11– How many wise men? v.7– The “star” led them there. v.2

• Gk. Magos “Magi” were, “the wise men, teachers, priests, physicians, astrologers, seers, interpreters of dreams, augers, soothsayers, sorcerers etc.” Thayer

– Thus, Gentiles knew of His sign and came to worship Him. Jn. 1:10-11; Num. 24:17, 19

“Christ-Mass” Not From God

• The Roman Catholic church set the date Dec. 25, in 354 A.D., not God! 1 Pet. 4:11; Gal.1:6-9– Over 3 centuries had passed before any special

observance of Jesus’ “B-day.”

• Luke 2:8 “…shepherds living out in the fields…” thus, not winter time.

• Anyone who teaches the doctrines of demons should not be followed. 1 Tim. 4:1-4

• We should when we study His Word. Is. 9:6-7

– All of God’s Word is profitable. 2 Tim. 3:16-17– We are to remember Jesus’ life, death, burial,

resurrection, & return. Lk. 2:52; Rom. 6; 1 Cor. 15

• When we worship in other Bible ways…– Each week we remember His whole life, death,

burial and resurrection! 1 Cor. 11:23-29

• Christians do not celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday/event. No Bible… Mt. 28:20– We never deny or demean Jesus divine virgin birth

of Mary. Matthew 1:18-25; Lk. 1:26-38; 2

We Can Remember Jesus…

• You will do all things by Jesus word and not by the doctrines of men. Col. 3:17; Mt. 15:9

• You will seek Jesus with all your heart, and you will find Him. Jer. 29:13; Jn. 14:6

• You too would follow Jesus. 1 Pet. 2:21– Hear Romans 10:17– Believe Romans 10:10– Repent Acts 2:38– Confess Acts 8:37– Be Baptized 1 Peter 3:21; Acts 22:16
