Wired LAN Connection with IEEE802.1x Authentication
for Windows 7 (any version)
1. Go to Control Panel and double-click System and Security.
2. Click Administrative Tools.

3. Double-click Services.
4. Double-click Wired AutoConfig.

5. Select Automatic for Startup type first, and click Start. And then click OK.
6. Go back to Control Panel and double-click Network and Internet.

7. Click Network and Sharing Center.
8. Click Local Area Connection. (Assume a LAN cable is plugged to an outlet.)
9. When the window on the right appears,
click Properties.

10. Select the Authentication tab,
click additional settings.
11. On the 802.1X settings, Check
on Specify authentication mode and
select User authentication, from the pull-down menu.
Also check on Enable single sign on fot this network and then click OK.

12. Go back to this window, click
Settings.
13. Uncheck
Validate server certificate and click Configure.
14. Uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any).
and then click OK.

15. When you see the message below on the desktop, click the message.
16. When the window below appears on the desktop, enter your own user name and password for IUJ
and click OK.
17. Going back to the Network and Sharing Center window, you can confirm if the connection is
established or not. See the status Access Type is Internet, and Connections is Local Area Connection
