Palestine ISD has had a SMART start to the school year. Each campus has some new programs that are benefitting students.
Washington ECC Pre-K students will be tested with Children’s Learning Institute (CLI) Engage three times during the school year to ensure students are school ready before entering kindergarten. Northside Primary and Southside Elementary students are focusing on writing skills with the Lucy Calkins Writing Program.
A.M. Story Intermediate kicked off Rachel’s Challenge, a new anti-bullying program that teaches and promotes kindness.
New this year at Palestine Junior High are SWAG classes which stands for “Simply Wanting Academic Greatness”, where students receive academic support. Palestine High School students are learning to manage their time and tasks through Cat Connection.
Thank you staff for a SMART first six weeks and hope everyone has a great second six weeks!

Palestine ISD students and staff have raised close to $3,000 for Hurricane Harvey relief since the hurricane devastated the Texas Coast in August.
Two school districts in need of assistance were chosen to receive a $1,500 donation from the funds given by PISD families and staff members.
PISD will send the funds to Aransas County ISD and Aransas Pass ISD which were both hit hard by Hurricane Harvey and have closed indefinitely for renovations and rebuilding.
Thank you to everyone who donated to help the schools recover.
The Palestine Junior High School TACE Program
invites everyone to join them at National Night Out
