Britain.• Sent a feet of 43 ships, 43,000 soldiers to

Ireland.• Leader of ships was General Lazare Hoche • Never arrived in Ireland. Hoche’s fleet got

separated from others. when the others arrived, they could not land in Bantry, Cork as a result of a storm.
