Last week, was certainly a shock to everyone’s system. The children were truly amazing and it was lovely to see so many of them still able to be in school. A
huge thank you to all the staff for all their efforts in keeping things as normal as
possible for the children and also in preparing work for them to complete at
home. Thank you also to all those parents who sent in kind messages of support
at this challenging time.
This is clearly a difficult time for everyone and also a steep learning curve for us as a school, as we
learn how to adapt to ensure continuity of education using online platforms. We are making every
effort to ensure that pupils will be able to continue their learning from home albeit in a simplified
form. As soon as we have further information, we will of course update you.
For those parents who are critical front-line staff, who have no alternative childcare we are making
provision for emergency childcare in school. All parents from these families have been sent a form
asking for their employer details and we would ask that you email the office to ensure we know
which days your child will be attending. It is important for everyone to remember that it is safer for
all if children wherever possible do remain at home.
So, despite all the external chaos and news, school last week was still full of life and joy. The children
never cease to amaze me and it was a pleasure to be around them. Nursery had a ‘Frozen’ party complete with balloons and activities which certainly lifted everyone’s spirits. The whole of early years was also very excited by the hatching of the duckling eggs which all hatched before the end of
Friday, so Mrs. McGreevy now has ducklings swimming in her bath tub at home awaiting collection!
In Junior House the girls produced some lovely writing and I was very impressed by how many of the
Form II girls have taken up the challenge to learn their tables. They will all soon be true superstars.
Keep up the good work.
Forms III-VI had house matches during their games afternoons and those girls who took advantage
of the final swim session had a glorious time with the whole pool and changing rooms entirely to
themselves.
In our assembly on Friday all Form VI were presented with awards for all their efforts this year and in
recognition of their talents and abilities. We also discussed the importance for being grateful for
what we have and saying thank you. I am certainly very grateful for the children’s smiling faces, my wonderful staff team and the words of encouragement received from parents. So thank you to you
all.

Following on from the Marsden March, the school received the following letter
Dear Seaton House School,
Thank you so much for raising an amazing £2,659.50 from your 2020 My Marsden March in aid of
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, in memory of a special teacher, Mrs Sallie Lunn. Please pass on
our gratitude to anyone who was involved in this year’s event, from all the students, staff, parents, family and friends who walked on the day and everyone who helped with the organisation of the day,
to everyone who so kindly contributed to this incredible total! I can confirm this money will be used to
support the patients and staff in The Oak Centre for Children and Young People. At The Royal
Marsden we deal with cancer every day, so we understand how valuable life is. And when people
entrust their lives to us, they deserve the very best. That’s why the pursuit of excellence lies at the heart of everything we do and why The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity exists. Thanks to your support
we continue to be there for everyone who needs us. We ensure our nurses, doctors and research
teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the
UK and around the world. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and ground-breaking research, to
creating the very best patient
environments, we will never stop
looking for ways to improve the lives
of people affected by cancer. On
behalf of all the staff and patients
here at The Royal Marsden, please
accept our heartfelt thanks for your
tremendous and continued support.
With my best wishes,
