Lincoln Park Zoo is accredited by theAssociation of Zoos and Aquariums.

Lincoln Park Zoo is a privately managed institu-tion that depends primarily on the support of itsvisitors, members and donors to remain open andfree every day. More than two-thirds of the zoo’soperating budget is provided by revenue from itsfood service, retail shops, parking and fund-raising activities. The remaining portion is pro-vided by a fixed annual subsidy from the ChicagoPark District. On behalf of all the animals atLincoln Park Zoo, we thank you for your support.

HoursSummer Hours(April–October) Weekdays10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Weekends and Holidays (Memorial Day–Labor Day)10 a.m.–6:30 p.m.

Winter Hours (November–March)10 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

While Lincoln Park Zoo is open 365 days a year,please note that some ridesand snack stations may beclosed during winter hours.All programs are subject tochange based on the weatheror needs of the animals.

What to Know

Regenstein Center for African ApesGet face-to-face with Lincoln Park Zoo’s famous gorillasand chimpanzees. Three different groups can be seenclimbing trees, burrowing in the mulch and interactingwith fellow apes in natural indoor and outdoor habitats.

Pritzker Family Children’s ZooGo for a walk in the woods in a children’s zoo unlike anyother in the world. Visitors of all ages can observe red wolves,black bears, river otters and beavers in woodsy outdoor set-tings, then come inside to see smaller animals like snakes andinsects. And the Treetop Canopy Climbing Adventure invitespint-sized climbers to ascend into the heavens.

Regenstein African JourneyExperience the sights and sounds of Africa. Dwarfcrocodiles and pygmy hippos swim in rain forest poolswhile meerkats and masked lovebirds play in a dry-thornforest. Towering giraffes amble outside near warthogs andwild dogs.

Farm-in-the-Zoo Presented by John DeereKids (and kids at heart) can experience the country lifewithout leaving the city. Learn about the origins of thefoods we eat, greet the goats in the contact yard, climbaboard a tractor in the Main Barn and visit with cows,sheep, chickens, pigs and ponies.

This year, the Sustainable Crop Gardens are bloominglike never before…and we need your green thumbs. Join usfor hands-on gardening seminars, weeding sessions, com-post-making and harvesting produce to cook in theFarmhouse.

Regenstein Small Mammal-Reptile HouseExplore the dark cavern inhabited by fruit bats, then baskin tropical warmth along with howler monkeys and cotton-top tamarins. And don’t miss the scaly snakes andslippery skinks.
