• Fill up the washing machine— it saves energy!
• Wash at low temperatures; 20, 30 or 40
degrees and use a cold water detergent.
It is not the temperature of the water that
makes your clothes clean but the laundry
detergent.
• Skip the prewash. It does not make your
clothes cleaner.
• Use eco-labeled detergents without
perfume, colorants and optical brightener.
• Skip the fabric softener - it adds grease to
the clothes which attracts more dirt.
• Dry your clothes outside, not in the tumble
dryer. It saves a lot of energy.
• Put your clothes in the freezer - it removes
bacteria and smells.
• Freshen up your clothes by airing them
instead of washing them.
• Always wash your clothes inside out - it prolongs their lifespan.
• Use the correct dosage of washing
powder - or perhaps even a little less.
