Pastor’s Ponderings …
Greetings! Welcome to November. The trees are passing through their
autumn colors and the days ae growing shorter as the world around us
prepares for the winter sleep. Don’t forget that Daylight Saving Time
ends on Sunday, November 3th
and be sure to turn your clocks back
one hour before you go to bed Saturday night.
This year, we will honor Veterans Day in the worship service on Novem-
ber 10th
and I invite you to join us for that.
November is also, of course, Thanksgiving. That holiday brings us such
a wonderful opportunity to come together with family and friends
and give thanks for all of our blessings.
As this is a time to count our blessings and give thanks for them, it is
also a time to give thought to ways that we can share God’s blessings
with others. In addition to lending a hand at food banks and with har-
vest meals prepared at outreach ministries, there may be other ways
that God is calling you to donate, participate, and celebrate. That
makes this a very good time to be especially attentive in your prayers
and listen for any direction and guidance the Holy Spirit may give you.
In November, we will also be preparing for Advent. It is truly my favor-
ite Christian Season of the year, and we will be able once again to cele-
brate the birth of a child who would grow to be a man who one day
would change the world. And that man would make that change in a
way that nobody could ever have imagined.
We continue to have a bounty of good things to look forward to
through the blessings and grace of God. Be safe, be well, be loving, be
faithful. Know that you are always welcome at church.
Peace and blessings,
Pastor Dave

How can we encourage those who cannot physically be among us?
We can make room for them as God has made room for us—in our prayers and in our fellowship
with cards and visits.
Please inform the church office if you are aware of someone who has need of the presence of the
body of Christ.
