Who is Mr. Ciraulo?• Name: Ron Ciraulo (pronounced sirawlo)
• Grew up in Juneau, Alaska
• Attended Gonzaga University (When John Stockton was there!)
• I've been a teacher Since 1986 (4th Year at Maywood)
• Taught for 10 years in Juneau, AK (middle school for 8 of the years)
• Taught the SAGE Program for 10 years(ISD's Elementary Gifted Highly Capable program)
• I’m also a pastor
• Married to my wife, Terry, for 23 years
• Granddaughter-Amelia (12 years old) & Grandson- Zaiden (9 years old)
Curriculum
Connected Mathematics Program 3 (CMP3)
• First Unit: • CC7 – Accentuate The Negative: this unit covers the different
operations with integers (positive and negative numbers.)
• ONE BOOK FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR.• Class set for use by students at school• Each student has a copy for home use all year long. • Mathdashboard – access coming soon!

Homework Help
• Math Lab: Thursdays – (begins this Thursday)• Staffed by a rotating Maywood Math Teacher• 2:10pm – 3:10pm in Room 118• You can ride the Activity Bus home (3:45 PM)

Absent Work Policy
• Check CONNECT link on the Maywood website or call a classmate for missed assignments. Additionally, s/he should check with a classmate for daily work and classwork.
• Get it done• No late work accepted one week prior to the end of the
trimester.
Grading Policies75% of Grade - Tests and Quizzes
• There are 7 units. • Unit Tests • 1-2 Quizzes each unit • RETAKES: offered on every quiz and test; highest
of the two scores; only the sections needing it.
25% of Grade- HW, CW, Participation• Work will be graded on effort and accuracy completed in
pencil in the students’ spiral notebook• Student participation, teamwork and classwork are the
daily expectation• Partner Quizzes, exit tickets, online activities, and
MATH XL time.
