BOOK WEEK PARADE - Thursday 22 August 2019 The theme this year is:
Reading Is My Secret Power.
In 1946 the CBCA established annual book awards to promote children's books of high literary and artistic quality. These awards are now the most influential and highly respected in Australia. Each year, in Bookweek, schools and public libraries across Australia spend a week celebrating books, and Australian authors and illustrators. Teachers and librarians conduct activities relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading. We would like to see all grades dressed up as a character from a book or as a character with secret pow-ers eg Superman , Batman, Catwoman etc. The parade is in Week 5 on Thursday, 22nd August at 12pm.
Please come along and join in on our annual parade. See you there, Rose Hawke

COMMUNITY NEWS
THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS….
Carers NSW is facilitating a workshop in Batemans Bay on Thursday 5 September 2019 and would appreciate you passing this invitation on to the families within your school community who you believe would benefit from attending this workshop. Feel free to share online, in newsletters or social media.
The workshop is an initiative of the Better Start program which is funded by the Department of Social services to work collaboratively with communities to support families with the transition to and engagement with the NDIS. The Early Days Moving Forward Workshops are for any parent/carers of a child 0-12 living with disability. The focus of the workshop is to enable parents and guardians to better support their child through these transition periods while learning more about the systems, therapies and supports available for their child as a participant in main-stream services, school, and the National Disability Insurance Scheme. They are also designed to allow opportuni-ties for families to discuss and share experiences, challenges and aspirations for the future with other families and provide practical information on family advocacy and inclusion along with information on Carer packages and ser-vices that will be available to parents.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Kind Regards
