Safe Places
For when you need help when you are out and about
Copyright © Widgit Software 2002 - 2014
A Safe Place is somewhere you can go if anything goes wrong when you are out and about.
Safe Places are often public buildings or shops which are open to the public. They will have a Safe Place sticker in their window.
Staff there will take time to listen to you, help you make a telephone call, provide you with somewhere to sit.
Safe Places are offered by people who care about those in their community and would like to be able to help anyone who needs unexpected support.
You might wish to use the Safe Place because you feel upset or unwell. Perhaps you have forgotten the number of the bus you need to catch, where the bus stop is or you may have lost your purse or wallet and need somewhere to go to sort things out.
SAFE PLACES
I.C.E
In Case of Emergency Card
My name is:
If you have an information card (e.g. ICE or alert card) you could show this at a Safe Place so they know you have additional needs and can help you get the right support.
Your card may include who to contact in an emergency or how people can help you in a Safe Place.
Any place that is open and showing the safe place logo will be happy to help.
