ACHIEVEMENTS…..
OUR PLEASURE…..
The Production and Sales of Silico Manganese
crossed the 1 lakh MT milestone for the first
time in the history of Nava Bharat. During the
Financial Year 2018-19, the production
touched 1,05,032 MT and the sales touched
1,05,611 MT of Silico Manganese.
The 150 MW PP achieved 10 Million accident
man hours till 23rd January i.e. 2000 accident
free days. To mark this occasion, the Safety,
Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ)
department organised a thanks giving to staff
of NBEIL.
The Management congratulates the staff of
the FAP (T), the Corporate Marketing team and
150 MM PP for the achievements.

The CSR Committee (constituted at the Board
level) consisting of Mr.D. Ashok, Chairman, Dr.
D.N. Rao & Dr. C.V. Madhavi, Independent
Directors, visited Odisha Works, in January. The
Committee reviewed the status of the
implementation of CSR projects taken up by
the Company in and around Kharagprasad
Village. As part of the review, the Committee
visited the newly constructed Diarrhea ward
at Motanga Government Hospital, Nava
Bharat Skill Development Centre (under
construction), RO Water Plant at
Meramandali Village, Brahmani Public School
(BPS), Biswa Kuntala Children Home, etc.

MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS …..
A two day training programme on “3M
(Muda, Muri & Mura)” was conducted by
Mr.Y.Pattanaik, Vice President (Odisha Works),
to create awareness on waste management
among HoDs and Line Supervisors of Odisha
Works, on 5th & 6th March.
Mr. K.Gangadharam, Manager (Process), Mr.
OVV Satyanarayana, Assistant Manager
(MPP) and Mr. KV Narasimheswar, Junior
Officer (Lab), attended a workshop on
“Chlorine Hazards and Safe Handling of
Chlorine” conducted by the Factories
Department, East Godavari District in
association with The Andhra Sugars Limited,
M/s Grasim Industries Limited & Godavari EHS
Association, Kakinada, on 18th March.
As part of the programme, a demo was also
organised at Victoria Water Works, Municipal
Corporation, Kakinada.
Mr. S.Suresh Kumar, Technician, Sugar Division,
attended a two-day residential training
programme on “Industrial Pollution Control
Methods” conducted by The Andhra Pradesh
Pollution Control Board at APHRDI, Bapatla,
Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, in February.
Surveillance & re-certification audit of
Integrated Management System i.e. QMS (ISO
9001), EMS (ISO 14001) & OHSMS (OHSAS
18001) were conducted at Sugar Division,
Samalkot, NBVL & NBEIL, Paloncha, in January
& February respectively.
Convinced with the effective implementation
of the above systems, the Auditors i.e. BSI,
Kolkata and IRQS, Chennai recommended
continuation of the accreditations for the
respective locations.

Cultural Celebrations
The 70th Republic Day was celebrated at all
our Units with fervour, on 26th January.
The Annual Cultural Programmes were
organised at Paloncha Works and Odisha
Works, in January. As part of the celebrations,
the employees and their family members
presented cultural items viz., dance
performances, skits etc. On this occasion staff
who completed 25 years, were also
felicitated.
Sugar Division, Samalkot, as part of their safety
week celebrations, conducted various
competitions for the students of High Schools
and ITI College. About 240 High School and
63 ITI students of different age categories
participated in the competitions. Awareness
Camps were also organised on Safe Usage of
LPG Gas among spouses of employees.

The 48th National Safety Day/ Week was
celebrated at all our Units. The celebration
commenced with safety flag hoisting, safety
pledge, rally and mock drill. To imbibe safety
consciousness among staff, workmen and
their family members, various competitions on
safety were conducted and prizes were given
to the winners. A blood donation camp was
also organised at Paloncha with the help of
Government Hospital, Kothagudem.

To inculcate healthy lifestyle among staff and
their family members, “Yoga Classes” were
organised, at the Auditorium of Nava Bharat
Public School (NBPS), Paloncha, from 17th to
23rd February.

The Paloncha Unit donated 400 dual desks to
26 Government Schools at a function
organized in Nava Bharat Public School, in
February. This will benefit 1,200 students.

District graced the function as Chief Guest
and handed over the dual desks through
formal letters, to the Headmasters of the
Schools spread over 7 mandals viz., Paloncha,
Kothagudem, Mulakapalli, Annapureddypalli,
Chandrugonda, Julurupadu and
Bhadrachalam. Mrs. D. Vasanthi, District
Educational Officer, graced the function as
guest of honor.

A training programme on basket making with
Sikki Grass was organised at Women
Empowerment Center (WEC), Paloncha. Mrs.
Nasreen Joseph, a trainer from M/s Capri
Foundation, Faridabad conducted the
programme from 21st to 31st January. The
trainer expressed that the learning skills of the
candidates at WEC are far better compared
to the candidates in other centres or location,
where she conducted similar programmes.
The Paloncha Unit constructed toilet blocks/
washrooms at Government High School,
Coolie Line, Kothagudem, M P E School Urdu
medium, Old Paloncha & M P U P School,
Erragunta. These toilet blocks/ washrooms
were handed over, through formal letters, by
Mr.D.Venkat, Mandal Educational Officer,
Kothagudem to the Headmaster of the
Government High School, Coolie Line,
Kothagudem and by Mr. P.Satish Sarma,
Tahsildar, Paloncha Mandal, to the
Headmasters of M.P.E and M.P.U.P. Schools,
Erragunta, respectively, in February.

The Company in its endeavour to improve the
overall health of people of villages, situated in
and around its factories has been setting up
safe & affordable drinking water plants.
Towards fulfilling this objective, Paloncha Unit
has installed the 16th Safe Drinking Water Plant
at Kommugudem village, Julurupadu
mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem district. The
plant was inaugurated by Mr. Rajat Kumar
Saini (IAS), District Collector, Bhadradri
Kothagudem District, on 15th March.
The trainees of WEC, Paloncha, put up a Palm
Leaf Products stall in the exhibition “DECCAN
HAAT – 2019” organised by NABARD, at
Hyderabad. The All India Radio interviewed
Mrs. Amudha, Palm Leaf trainer of WEC,
Paloncha. This has enabled them to get new
orders for various Palm Leaf Products, thereby
generating income for the trainees.

Bhadradri Kothagudem District, understanding
the functioning of RO Water System
Nava Bharat Public School (NBPS), bagged
the “Best CBSE School in Telangana” award,
at the 6th National Conference of Brainfeed
Magazine, held at Hyderabad, on 31st

Celebrations
Nava Bharat Schools (NBS), Paloncha,
celebrated the 40th Annual Day on 27th & 28th
January. Prof. V. Gopal Reddy, Former Vice
Chancellor, Kakatiya University, graced the
inaugural function as Chief Guest.
Dr.C.V.Madhavi, Independent Director of the
Company was the Chief Guest for the
Valedictory function.
As part of the Annual Day celebrations,
students presented a mesmerizing cultural
show. The Chief Guests addressed the
students and gave away the prizes to
meritorious students and winners of various
events.
International Women’s Day was celebrated
by NBPS, Paloncha with festive spirit and
splendor. As part of the celebrations, the
Female faculty members of NBPS presented
thematic and message oriented
programmes. Smt.Adi Laxmi, a noble lady
running the Sneha Vruddhasramam,
Kothagudem, was felicitated in honour of her
yeomen services to the society.
A little boy went to his father and asked: “Dad, where did my intelligence
come from?”
The father replied. “Well, son, you must have got it from your mother,
because I still have mine.”
