“One of rock ‘n’ roll’s lifelong major players”—Rolling Stone
Grammy-Award wining guitarist Peter Frampton is back on the road with new dates this summer—this time with American rockers The Steve Miller Band. See below for full routing details or visit www.frampton.com.
“Steve Miller was in a recording studio vocal booth stacking incredible harmonies the first time we met in London, circa 1970,” Frampton explains. “From that moment on I have been a huge admirer of his multiple talents: singing, writing and of course his amazing guitar playing. Steve has already asked if I will come and jam on a few tunes during his set. ‘YES PLEASE!’ was my very quick answer! Music is all about having fun and playing from the heart. I can guarantee you much fun will be had by all on this tour.”
Steve Miller furthers, “Peter and I first met at Olympic Studios in London in the late sixties when we were both just starting our recording careers. He was a wonderful guitarist and songwriter then and even more so today. Over the years we’ve played together in venues from theatres to football stadiums and everything in between. He always sets the musical bar high, his band always knocks me out and I’m thrilled we are going to spend the summer together doing a great run of concerts. This is the kind of quality and talent we both strive to present and I’m looking
forward to a summer of great music, exceptional performances and fun. Peter is remarkable musician.”
Frampton’s latest album, Acoustic Classics, which brings us acoustic versions of his hits, continues to receive widespread critical acclaim. Guitar Player raves, “Frampton’s playing flows fluently throughout and the variety of exquisite tones keeps the journey interesting.” Frampton also performed on “Conan,” appeared on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” and “Artist Confidential,” and was featured on NPR’s “World Cafe” and “Tiny Desk Concert.” Frampton spent much of the past year on the “Raw: An Acoustic Tour” of which Naples Daily News hails, “Frampton’s acoustic lead playing sizzled on extended jams, tasteful and flashy at the same time, reminiscent of virtuosi such as Daryl Stuermer and venturing into Al di Meola territory. He showed he could rock out high up the neck on acoustic, and also find melodic, jazz-infused licks.”
Peter Frampton remains one of the most celebrated artists and guitarists in rock history. At 16, he was lead singer and guitarist for British band the Herd. At 18, he co-founded one of the first super groups, seminal rock act Humble Pie. His session work includes collaborations with such legendary artists as George Harrison, Harry Nilsson, David Bowie, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ringo Starr, John Entwistle and many others. His fifth solo album, the electrifying Frampton Comes Alive!, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and remains one of the top-selling live records of all time.
