MULTIPORTER – your capable assistent when dealing with NMEA2000 networkdevelopment. A flexible solution which does not just save your installationspace and time – it's perfect for anybody, either for experienced people or forabsolute beginners who wants to set up their own NMEA2000 network quickly.'Small, but what a skills' – up to 5 standard NMEA2000 ports are integrated intothe MULTIPORTER, waiting for getting connected with several devices. TheMULTIPORTER has an integrated interface for the power supply of your vessel aswell. Furthermore, built-in LEDs provide you with information, like the givenvoltage or the data flow over the CAN-Bus.Due to the pluggable jumper on two terminal resistors, a flexible technicalconfiguration is always possible. In addition to that, all of that is boxed in its own robust IP67 certified case, which protects the board from dust and water even under inconvenientcircumstances.

Features
– The MULTIPORTER gets powered by the power supply voltage of your vessel Note: the admissible voltage of the connected devices must not beexceeded.
– The MULTIPORTER and all its connected devices are secured by a replaceable5A safety fuse.
– Five ( 5-pole M12 plug-in connectors ) allow connecting up to five NMEA2000-compatible devices.
– One built-in tension relief secures the power cord.– Integrated LEDs provide information about voltage supply and data flow.– The IP67 certified case protects the inner board from dust and splashing
water
Notes:– admissible ambient temperature: -20°C bis +70°C ( -4 F to 158 F )– all specifications refer to measurements in testing environment (TA) of +25°C ( 77 F )– the power consumption of the MULTIPORTER accounts about 5mA and does not have to be
considered in calculating the energy balance inside the network.

Building up a NMEA2000 network using the MULTIPORTER is quite easy.To create an easy and adequate network, the jumper has to be inserted over thetwo terminal resistors bridge J1 and J2 in order to activate them. The network is now successfully established and you can feel free to connect upto five NMEA2000-capable devices and sensors. The five plug-in connectors are internly merged in a bus from CAN0 to CAN4 andare terminated with resistors.By specifically targeting and activating of the terminal resistors, it ispossible to extend your MULTIPORTER with two backbones.Note that the CAN0 to CAN4 connectors should be used for the backbone extensionexclusively.
In the following, various options and examples for technical configurations ofthe MULTIPORTER will be presented. * Using and connecting all five plug-in connerctors is not necessarily required for a successfulnetwork establishment.
Example 1
The easiest way to establish a NMEA2000 network with the MULTIPORTER.The internal terminal resistors J1 and J2 are activated by a jumper.
Note: you can connect five devices or sensors at the maximum. The whole power consumption must not exceed 4A. Detailed information about power consumption ofthe respective devices can be taken from the manufacturer specifications.

Example 2
The NMEA200 network – as decribed above ( Example 2) – gets broadened by anadditional backbone.
In that case, both terminal resistors J1 and J2 stay disabled by not using ajumper at all. Both outgoing cords must be terminated by a terminal resistor. Both cords can be extended by some T-connectors.
Note: The combined length of both backbones must not exceed the admissiblelenth. The whole power consumption must not exceed 4A.

Example 4
In the event of an intentional exceedance of the power consumption, you will need a second power connection.
Therfore you may combine two MULTIPORTER.This is possible by inserting an appropriate power isolator. As described above ( Example 3 ) - both terminal resistors J1 and J2 staydisabled by not using a jumper at all.
