1. RECOMENDATION Following recommendations of this user manual is essential condition for
ensuring safety when using ZRi02 power supplier. The user, as well as every single person performing maintenance
operation on the ZRi02 power supplier, should familiarize with this manual. The manual must be available for reference to any person operating it. The manual may be extended with additional warnings and safety information by RADWAG.
The whole personnel must be informed about any new supplement to this manual. 2. INTENDED USE The ZRi02 power supplier, with an intrinsically safe output circuit, is a device powered up from mains (230V AC) and installed outside the hazardous area. This supplier is intended for intrinsically safe devices (as ignition protection), especially those that are used in the 1st or 2nd zone where there is a mixture of air with vapour, mist or gas of explosive group II. The ZRi02 power supplier is used together with other devices and it can be installed only outside the hazardous area. Intended for indoor use. Protect against humidity.
3. DESIGN Power supplier comprises the following subassemblies:
• Main board • Plastic casing • Power cord • Supply cable (up to 20 m) terminated with a plug.
Intrinsic safety of the device are assured by the following solutions:
• Mains transformer with a thermal fuse of the primary winding. It complies with the PN-EN 60079-11 standard.
• Resistor limiting current • Zener barrier – a set of Zener diodes limiting the voltage
channelled to intrinsically safe circuit

3.1. Safety analysis RADWAG as a manufacturer, guarantees intrinsic safety of the device and compliance with PN-EN 60079-0 and PN-EN 60079-11 standard.
• Maximal output power (Po) is lower than 0,52W • Some outlined soldering points are the subject of detailed
monitoring. • The mains power transformer with a thermal fuse protecting the
primary winding complies with: PN-EN 60079-11 • Resistor limiting current • Zener barrier limiting the voltage in the intrinsic safety circuit. • Complying with requirements while designing the PCB as far as
length, width and clearance between tracks. • Using appropriate materials for mechanical construction.
4. OPERATION – THE MANUAL
4.1. Connecting to the supplier
1. Place the power supplier outside the hazardous area 2. Connect the plug to the socket in the indicator. (Socked marked as
DC IN). 3. Plug to the mains (230V AC) 4. In case of not using the device unplug from the mains (230V AC)

Main subassemblies: 1 – Power cord 230V AC terminated with a plug 2 – LED signalling the presence of output voltage 3 – output supply cable (up to 20m) 4 – Power output plug, for connecting to DC IN 5. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS The ZRi02 power supplier is an accompanied device and can be installed only outside a hazardous area.
5.1. Exchanging fuses Fuses can be exchanged only outside the hazardous area after prior disconnecting from mains (230V AC). To change the fuse proceed as follows:
• Disconnect from mains 230V AC • Unplug the supplier from the indicator • Unscrew bolts in the Power supply casing • Take off the insulation coating (pos.3)

• remove the burnt • mount a new fuse, characterized by parameters given below • Put on the insulation coating on the fuse (pos.3) • Screw bolts in the Power supply casing
PCB – fuses placement 1 – B1 : fuse of the primary winding 2 – B2 : fuse of the secondary winding 3 – insulation coating Specification of fuses: Miniature CERAMIC fuses 5x20, rated breaking capacity - 1500A AC compliant with EN 60127-2/5 B1 – T100mA/250V B2 – T100mA/250V IT IS FORBIDDEN TO USE FUSES OF OTHER TYPES AND OTHER PARAMETERS THAN GIVEN IN THIS MANUAL. USING FUSES OF OTHER TYPES CAN CAUSE LOOSING THE INTRINSIC SAFETY OF THE OUTPUT CIRCUIT.

5.2. Cleaning
Cleaning may take place only after prior disconnection of the power supplier from mains 230V AD and from the device it is connected to. It should be cleaned only by means of substances and cloths that prevent accumulation of electrostatic charges. It is forbidden to use abrasives or solvents in order to protect the casing against damage.
