1). The project was proposed By the Central Electricity Authority In 1973.
2). In 1975, project was revised by the Consultant Thermal Design
Organization.
3). The planning commission cleared the project report in Sept., 1976.
4). The first 2x110 MW units were manufactured by BHEL, Hyderabad
in 1st
stage.
5). First estimated cost at that time was 143 crores rupees.

1). The thermal power station burns the fuel and use the heat to raise the
steam.
2). Heat from the coal is absorbed by kilometers long tubes in boiler walls by
³Boiler Feed Water´ and transferred to the turbine blades rotating them.
3). When turbine rotates, the rotor housed inside the stator turns with it.
4). Electricity is produced by the movement of magnetic field created by
rotor.
5). This electricity passes to the transformer which steps up the voltage for
effective transmission.
6). The used steam is changed back into water in the condenser for reuse.

Each of the generator is connected to this system through a step up of
125 MVA 240/ 11 KV yard generator transformer. There are two step
down transformer each feeding 6.6 KV system (Station Switchyard ).
Four feeder take off from 220 switch yard two to SAKATPURA ,GSS and
other to HEERAPURA,Jaipur GSS.
