Clubs: Welcome Week activities to introduce new students to clubs and activities. Midnight Yell" during finals week, a tradition where every night at midnight students go outside and yell as loudly as possible for one minute, giving everyone a chance to take a short break from studying and release some nervous energy. Unicamp, founded in 1934, is UCLA's official charity, it is a camp for underserved children in LA.

Terms: Semester or Quarter?
UCLA goes by quarter system. What is the difference between semester and
quarter? Quarter system moves at a faster pace so
you learn more in a period of time. Semester system moves at a slower pace but
its more in depth.
SCHOOL MASCOT
The original mascot was represented by bear cubs. In 1924, students chose a more threatening Grizzly Bear. In 1926 the name was changed to the "Bruins" and Berkeley called its mascot the Bears. UCLA used live bears as mascots, which entertained the home crowd at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The bears were given various names, but "Joe Bruin" endured over time.

UCLA has a great athletic program with a variety of sports, such as: Basketball, football, water polo, golf, volleyball, tennis, soccer, swimming, gymnastics, Track and Field, softball, baseball, and much more.
UCLA is #1 in most NCAA championships, with 106 NCAA championships and 127 total national championships.
