TECHNOLOGY KEY TECHNOLOGY KEY
FRAMES & DECKING
The durable and lightweight Momentum Superlight 6000 series aluminum frame is easily maneuverable, and gender-specific frame shapes accommodate men’s- and women’s-specific gaits.
The innovative, upturned tail of the aluminum Fit-Step™ frame provides biomechanical benefits, reducing muscular skeletal impact on hip, knee and ankle joints by 10%.
The ultra-durable 6000 series Western Frame design optimizes flotation and stability in powder snow conditions with men’s- and women’s-specific designs.
ArcTec+® decking is not only puncture and abrasion-resistant to -40°F, but it is manufactured with a zero-scrap policy, as all waste is fully reground and reused in the manufacturing process.
SoftTec decking provides durable, lightweight flotation and has a smooth, soft texture.
The patented FLEX Tail™ technology allows the snowshoe to roll more naturally underfoot from heel strike to toe off. The FLEX Tail absorbs shock from the initial heel strike, reducing the amount of stress on ankles, knees and hips.
Tubbs’ advanced Torsion Deck™ design adapts to variable snow conditions underfoot. The deck allows torsional articulation throughout the body of the snowshoe, enhancing traction, biomechanics and comfort on uneven terrain.
The patented Soft Strike™ zone works with the FLEX Tail™ to absorb shock and reduce stress on joints and muscles. Soft Strike also aids in weighted traction under the heel. Finally, Soft Strike makes for a quieter overall experience while snowshoeing.
ARTICULATION SYSTEMS
Energy efficient and effective, R2 delivers shock-absorbing lateral flex and quick side slope responsiveness to maintain a natural foot posi-tion in all conditions. Full step rotation allows the tail of the snowshoe to drop, shedding snow and allowing the toe crampon to bite deeply.
The Rotating Toe Cord design enables the tail of the snowshoe to drop, shedding snow and reducing cardio-respiratory strain by 7%, while a Rotation Limiter prevents over-rotation.
The Rotating Toe Cord design enables the tail of the snowshoe to drop, shedding snow off the tail and reducing cardio-respiratory strain by 7%. The underfoot pivot point also allows the teeth on the toe traction to bite deeply into the snow when weighted.
The Fixed Toe Cord pivot system is efficient for flat and rolling terrain with packed snow conditions, and it keeps the snowshoe close to the foot for quick turnover.
ROTATION LIMITER
TRACTION
The razor-sharp, carbon steel Anaconda™ toe crampon has eight sharp teeth that provide constant contact and penetration in all types of terrain.
The carbon steel Cobra™ toe crampon located under the ball of the foot provides constant contact in variable snow conditions, while its jagged tooth construction improves grip on packed snow and ice.
The compact, carbon steel Talon™ toe crampon provides constant contact on all types of terrain and engages the slope more quickly with the Fit-Step™ frame shape.
Our Recreational series of carbon steel toe and heel crampons feature front and rear braking teeth for a secure grip uphill, downhill and side-hill in packed snow conditions.
The aggressive Python heel crampon, centered under the boot, delivers enhanced downhill braking traction.
The U-Grip heel crampon’s unique micro-serrated tooth design gives you supreme weighted traction under your heel.
The Viper™ 2.0 carbon steel toe crampon’s jagged tooth construction maximizes weighted traction and responsiveness. The aggressive tangs in the toe crampon are concave to give the crampon a scooping func-tion in soft snow.
The 3D-Curved Traction Rails ensure superior side-hill grip in hard-packed and icy conditions. The curved shape helps prevent fore-aft slippage on steeper terrain by avoiding the “saw blade” effect. The Traction Rails are curved up at the tip to provide traction during toe off without causing you to trip.
CONTROL
The gender-specific, asymmetric ActiveFit™ provides the perfect combination of control, support, comfort and ease of use. Control Wings™ center the heel, while the padded midfoot delivers a custom fit without pressure points. Men’s fits up to size 13 boots; women’s fits 5-11 boots.
The asymmetric and easy-to-use ReAct™ binding combines gender-specific, stable base construction with Tubbs’ patented Control Wing™ technology for a comfortable and secure fit.
Our most robust 180™ Series binding, the gender-specific 180Pro features extended rigid Control Wings™, a locking heel strap and a contoured, padded upper for pressure-free comfort and added warmth.
The all-new 180Tour binding fuses an improved micro-adjust webbing system for easy adjustment with Tubbs’ patented Control Wings™ for an exact fit on a wide variety of men’s and women’s boot sizes.
The streamlined180EZ binding features a simple, one-buckle tighten-ing mechanism, coupled with an easy-to-use urethane heel strap for efficient, lightweight support. Patented Control Wings™ keep your heel aligned with the snowshoe for maximum control and comfort.
Easy-to-use and readily adjustable, the patented Quick-Step® binding leverages Tubbs’ proprietary Control Wing™ technology, centering the heel for directional efficiency. Fast fit features include a dual-pull system for easy adjustment to a wide array of men’s and women’s boot sizes.
Easy-to-use and readily adjustable, the patented two-buckle Quick-Draw™ binding centers the heel for directional efficiency.
The simple tightening and locking buckle on the QuickLock™ binding makes getting kids in and out of snowshoes easier than ever and provides all-day stability and control.
The gender-specific, asymmetric ActiveFLEX™ binding, featuring patented Control Wings™, provides lightweight control, support, comfort and ease of use. Men’s binding fits up to size 13 boots, women’s size 5-11.
The molded QuickFLEX binding is gender-specific with patented Control Wings™ to center the boot. A dual-pull strap system secures fit while a cinch pull strap makes entry and exit easy. The heel strap pulls tight against the boot, centering and securing it in position.
OTHERS
Designed to make steep ascents easier, the ActiveLift™ heel lift reduces calf fatigue and Achilles tendon strain when climbing. The heel lift can be easily pulled up and down with the handle of your snowshoe pole. The 19° Backcountry heel lift is ideal for extreme steeps, while the 16° Day Hiking version is designed for moderate terrain.
Tubbs was the first company to manufacture women’s-specific snowshoes, and we remain committed with women’s-specific versions of every model. Tubbs women’s-specific snowshoes are lighter in weight, feature ergonomically tapered frame shapes for ease of stride, and offer custom fit women’s-specific bindings sized and scaled from a woman’s boot last in sizes 5-11.
