Booking the train tickets A tourist goes to a booking office of a travel agency to have a train reservation. ( T: tourist C: clerk) C: Can I help you, sir? T: I’d like to make a reservation for a ticket to Shenzhen for Friday. Which train should I take? C: We have train 77 and train 15. Train 77 is a direct train. Train 15 is a night train. T: I will take train 15, please. C: Your name, please. T: Peter Smith. C: One-way ticket, or round trip ticket? T: One-way ticket, please. C: Do you want a sleeping berth ticket? T: Yes, one soft berth ticket, please. What platform does the train leave from? C: It leaves from platform 7. T: What kind of train is it? An express train? C: Yes, it is an express train. It only stops at big stations. The train leaves at 7 o’clock in the evening
and arrives at 8 the next morning. You can have a good sleep on the train, the next morning, when you wake up, you will find you have already arrived in Shenzhen. Thus, the trip won’t be boring.
