OLIVE WOOD FOR SALE THIS WEEKEND
Representatives from Catholic Bethlehem Christian Families will be with us on the week-
end of Sep 8 & 9, 2018, to ask for your help and blessing for the native people of the Holy
Land in Bethlehem. These families, sixty years ago, made up 18% of the population. Due to
recent events in the Middle East, it has caused these families to face devastating economical strain, and caused the population to decrease to less than 2% in the Holy Land. These fami-lies have relied on the income from their reli-
gious hand carved olive wood artifacts to tour-ist. So we have come to the USA to try to help
support these families by bringing their arti-facts here to sell in the USA. All the proceed from sales will be send back to the families of
the Holy Land so that they may be able to keep their homes and provide their families. The last
few years were very tough for the Christian families, and this is the only source of income
for them. PLEASE BROWSE THEIR ITEMS AND HAVE
SOMETHING FROM THE Holy Land. VOCATION VIEWS
The encounter with
Jesus never leaves one
unaffected, but our ears
must be opened to
receive His word. (Mark
7:31-37)
STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT
The good steward must not show favoritism. The rich may have many material gifts to share, but St. James reminds us in the second reading that God has chosen the world’s poor to be rich
in faith and inheritors of God’s kingdom. • Stewardship Thought: Do not think that it is a waste of time to feed the hungry, to visit and take care of the sick and the dying, to open and receive the unwanted and homeless; for this is
our love of Christ in action.
WORD OF LIFE
For all who have been harmed by abuse: May the Holy Spirit heal their wounds and help them
find peace in justice; We pray to the Lord:
