Currently, Internet access is available to Italian businesses and home users in various forms, including dial-up, cable, DSL, fiber to the home, mobile, wireless and satellite. However, the lack of funding to improve and maintain the Italian phone network has made it incomplete and outdated, thus many urban, hill and mountain areas in Italy aren't covered by broadband internet.

As of December 2006, Deutsche Telekom has more than 10 million DSL customers in Germany, making Germany one of the top DSL countries in the European Union. Deutsche Telekom has a number of resellers and many ISPs providing the service for it. Alternatively, there are DSL providers in Germany which have their own DSL network who rent the copper lines from the incumbent in a LLU arrangement. The market is dynamic with lower prices and new technologies emerging rapidly, but a common problem is that most offers have very long contract terms of one or two years.

SWEDEN MARKET SNAPSHOT
The internet has a higher status for many Koreans than it does in the West and the government actively supports this. South Korea's broadband network is the fastest and the most developed in the world. Seoul, the nation's capital, has been called “the bandwidth capital of the world.” In January 2006, it became the first country to achieve over 50 percent broadband penetration per capita. By 2005, it was the first country to complete the conversion from dial-up to broadband. It also has the cheapest, fastest broadband in the world. Now there are experiments with speeds of one gigabit per second. Additionally, in 2005, 96.8 percent of South Korean mobile phones had Internet access.

South Korea's mobile market passed the 107 percent penetration rate mark into 2012, with 3G accounting for over 85 percent of all subscriptions. With all three mobile operators having merged the fixed and mobile sides of business in 2011, triple-play was promoted more actively. The introduction of converged services across the fixed-line, mobile and broadband infrastructure has resulted in more attractive bundled pricing for consumers. LTE was launched in 2011 and saw fast growth into mid-2012.
